Just been to Scala for C Duncan. Was excellent. Great harmonies reminiscent of 60s 70s easy listening brought up to date.

Going to see The Specials at Brixton Academy tomorrow night (Thu). I've heard that they have levelled the downstairs floor, or at least part of it, so that should be interesting.

I saw them last year at a bar in Stamford Bridge. It was excellent although one old mod had a bit too much excitement and collapsed

Close Up Festival at the Hoxton Bar & Grill was a good crack on Sat. Bands varied in quality but it was about 10 quid so nobody minded too much.

Public Service Broadcasting under the blue whale skeleton at the Natural History Museum last Friday.
Of course the venue made it very special but by definition, also presented some challenges. Access wasn't great & the stage was quite low. Still a great experience. |

saw Sleeper play a 30 min set at a free local park festival in Hove on Saturday.
The sound was fairly crappy, but was quite fun. Sadly was too far away to lust after Louise properly. Primal Scream at the Haunt tonight

Got tickets for National in Brighton in December.
Strokes at APE on Saturday, and then hopefully Christine and The Queens on Sunday if I can get some freebies.

I was at that. Didn't think much of Sleeper but Rose Elinor Dougall plus various ESP alumni was great.

Off to All Points East later. Annoyingly Primal Scream clash with Jon Hopkins ... it's a toughie, will probably go with Primal Scream though.
Great weather for a music festival
