I saw Doves tonight - third time I’ve seen them and the first time I’ve lasted to the end of the show (I saw the Kingdom Of Rust show in Brixton and the audience was full of wankers so I left early, the other time was V festival and let’s just say I’d taken something that made me far more excited about seeing Oasis and the Chemical Brothers (who were on straight after Doves) so I bailed but I really enjoyed tonight.

How was Laura Marling? Saw her do a warm up gig at Omeara on Thursday night which (room temperature apart) was pretty much perfect.

Despite a downpour during Doves, had a great time yesterday. Saw a bit of The Coral but didn’t recognise any songs till they finished with Dreaming of You. Feeder were good.
Bit drunk by the time Doves on, but had a good old singalong. Brighton racecourse was a good venue. Easy to get served, enough toilets and the sound was good.

White Denim at Oval Space last night were the best tightest band ive witnessed in many a year. Brilliant drummer, keyboard, singer lead guitar. The ideal antedote to what I'd witnessed earlier in afternoon at SP. You have to see this band. The songs were banged out with little or no pause. Bit of an odd venue, felt like being in a village hall, sound was good though and got 10 feet in front of the stage. Still buzzing from the night. I had to sell my roundhouse tickets earlier this year and not seen them since Glasto 2008. The complete dogs bollocks.

I'm going to see Ride playing an acoustic set at Rough Trade East on the 17th, followed by an album signing - there might still be tickets available if you really want to see them?
