I increasingly think these last minute reported bids are just BS so SP can say 'we tried to buy the players we need' etc.

Of course they are as it normally takes us ages to conclude deals.

Moved to Monaco over the weekend. With Falcao moving he should get some good game time there so probably not an option for us any more. Apparently has a purchase option.

Palace cannot force players to join them and this appears to be why some reported targets did not join Palace.
Some players chose to keep their options open as the European transfer window did not close at the same time as the Premier League one did. This is a problem that needs urgently addressing and the Premier League clubs are aware of the problem that this has created. |

The PL clubs are the ones who wanted it. If i remember correctly we didn’t but now they all want it back in line and rightly so. |

On the overall point of changing the window though, we have not had any transfer rubbish during the first few games, how many PL teams have lost a player? None that i am aware of. I like the deadline where it is. |

His goals to game ratio is poor and he's been moved on from PSG and RBL already this early in his career. Not bothered about missing out, even though it was probably never on the cards

It was a sound idea in fairness but all European leagues needed to do the same thing as most of them commence around the same time. Obviously they didn't follow suit so the early closing is massively flawed.

If course the club and it's supporters have ambition but unless we have a mega rich invested come in board it will be small steps to see us as a regular top 7 club with infrastructure to match. Right now our in come which is without doubt the highest we have ever had is required to stretch in many directions, therefore I believe we are achieving above what most clubs could manage. At this stage I think making 10 seasons in the premier league plus gradual improvements all around every aspect of CPFC should be our ambition and if we win a cup of finish top half then we have done well

And of course being moved on from PSG and Leipzig means he’s nowhere near good enough for palace. We’re way above teams like that. |

Given his goals to game ratio is about 1 in 4 which would net us 9-10 goals a season I would take that over 3 goals in 12 years Benteke or constantly sidelined Wickham.
