I'm 99% sure I fractured my big toe 6 weeks ago playing football, haven't been able to play since which is really pissing me off. Being a bit of a dick I didn't bother go to the hospital, what did they tell you? Will I ever play again?

Mine is an avulsion fracture...should be fine in three to four weeks. They canít do anything really.

I didnít intend to get it checked out but the absolute truth is that I arrived for a hand therapy physio session two hours early (had an op in October) as I buggered up the time of the appointment.

As I had two hours to kill I thought I may as well pop into the minor injury clinic to kill some time and get it looked at ... one X-ray later and itís fractured.

I think youíll be fine to resume your career but they are sore arenít they?

Probably still a better option than Benteke/Wickham/Sorloth - Roy, sign him up!

I didn’t see the incident as my son & I made a quick move on the final whistle, but when we were maybe 100 yards down Oliver Grove heading for the station we heard a load of noise followed by what was clearly an accelerating van and the sound of the van being hit. I few seconds later we saw the van speed off but were too far away to help.

I’m ******* sick of the way people drive their cars around the stadium after the game, particularly as the place is full of small children for whom drivers don’t seem to give a shit. I’ve seen countless issues over the years, and had to get involved in several altercations most of the time by facing them down. I’m really glad I wasn’t near this **** as I think I would have ended up getting hurt. I sincerely hope the CCTV will mean that he gets caught and punished.

The club and the police need to take this seriously.

That's pretty disgusting to hear about this. Maybe the roads need to be closed off for longer around the stadium.

Available and waiting for the call.

Surely we wouldn't sign an injured player in the transfer window, would we!?

Worth doing that!

When I was younger I got attacked outside my Girlfriends (now wife of 37 years!) house. After having a breeze block chucked at my windscreen, I got out just in time to be attacked. Being a prop forward helped me here and I turned the tables on him.

After banging my assailants head into the road about 30 times, my mother-in law (future at the time) came out the house and shoved a rolling pin in the poor guys face saying if you move your dead.

The police, who were dealing with another incident down the road at the time eventually came up to find out what was going on, chucked my assailant in the back of their van and advised me to claim through the CIC scheme for my windscreen, shirt and nose (which was also broken). I did and got the costs back plus £250.00 for my nose (back in the seventies remember).

My assailant got 30 stitches in his head and chucked back into jail where apparently he had just been celebrating getting out of.

Make sure you get a crime number of the police.

Thanks.

I think I had a tiny fracture but stupidly I played again the next week, hoping to run it off and made it much worse, foot hurt like buggery after that, was really sore for a good couple of weeks, still hurts now but not too bad.

I spoke to a nurse at a party, drunk, New years eve and she told me the same thing, nothing you can do just wait for it to heal.

I fractured my toe once - it now refractures probably every tenth game I play. It's annoying to say the least. I don't play very often any more.

I wasn't being entirely serious.

Wolfie sprained his toe, which will probably get him a rich tea biscuit under the scheme.

I can believe it. 2 minutes to seal it up and write the address on the front and 4 hours to hobble to the post box.

Talking of letters, why do hospitals (as an example) send letters re appointments nowadays. What a waste of time and money. When I had my op in Nov they gave me a follow up 6 week post appt appointment letter as I left the hospital. When I turned up for it last week they told me it had been cancelled and a letter telling me the new date had been sent out to me on 24th Dec (I mean what could possibly go wrong there ?) which of course I never received. So I asked, in a rather annoyed tone given I had just driven 35 minutes to the appt Ďwhy the hell didnít you just pick the phone up and ring me to tell meí ? This is a BUPA hospital so you would think theyíd be a bit more switched on.

I need the Things That Annoy You thread. Anyway Wolfie, just thought that would kill a few more minutes for you

As you were

What is this? Amateur hour?

Thereís at least an hour contemplating whether or not to head out now or after another coffee.

Then thereís deciding whether to go first class or second which I can spin out for half an hour.

By this time Iíll need a snack, or maybe homes under the hammer may have started.

Iíll get waylaid by one of the cats needing its tummy tickled, might have to take a cursory glance at the Brexit thread to see if Skintís behaving like a cock again, find out he is and send him my regards.

Probably have to sign for another parcel ordered by one of my feckless family and then around half eleven Iíll make a break for the post box.

Back home ten minutes later for a lie down.

Happy days.
