VAR is great, the ref was diabolical. The reason we need VAR is because ref's have been routinely diabolical but unfortunately they can still use VAR to be even more diabolical as in this case.
Lessons will be learnt and adjustments made, fortunately and very fortunately this particular diabolical interpretation of the deliberate handball rule didn't eliminate a nation wrongfully from the World Cup. I fully expect the Ref to be massively reprimanded. |
