Tunisia Vs England.
...and so it begins.
Come on then, let’s do this. Would take any sort of win but would be nice to kick start the tournament with a nice confident win. |

I'm expecting to see a contingent of Palace supporters with a giant picture of Wilf giving Southgate the finger with the caption "He's just too good for you". Also a nice win please!

Reasons to be fearful.
1. Southgate has said we are in a tough group 2. Tunisia are better than Iceland and only two places below Italy. 3. It's the World Cup. What could possibly go wrong??? Come On You England |

Genuinely excited about tonight.
I REALLY like the way this team is starting to evolve. No fitting in certain players just for the sake of it (like we have done way to many times the past 10-20 years). We have a system. We have a way of playing. And we are selecting players that fit the system. Its refreshing. Plus, there seems to be a real feel good factor at the moment. Hopefully that shows tonight and we can get off to a winning start. 2-0 England. Kane at the double

Just can't abide Maguire in the England backline after he's conceeded 8 in a season against us. It should actually be illegal to represent your Country after you've done that. What Master Gareth is "trying to do" and no matter how good a pass a fella has, if he can't do the defending first, he's nowhere.

Hoping for a 1-0 or 2-1 win. Anything more will heap more pressure on the next game.
Quietly competent please Gareth.

Maguire was the one decent player in the Leicester game at home i thought. Strong, intelligent positionally and very capable at taking the ball out of defence. I rate him. If it was a tougher opponent i'd prefer Cahill in there, but a side like Tunisia who will likely play for a point, definitely favour Maguire.

It's now feasible that we don't actually want to win the group, so winning both games before playing Belgium by a lesser margin than Belgium win both, followed by a draw in the final game, could well be best.
As it's England, and we always seem to mess things up, we'll therefore win all three games comfortably, end up with the winner of Germany v Brazil in the quarter final, and go out on penalties.

Harry Maguire as an England centre back sums up the lack of quality we have. The bloke is an absolute donkey
Kyle Walker as a centre back, wtf? Stones barely played for City Pickford over-rated What can possibly go wrong! |

I think Maguire is a decent centre back, good in the air, brave and is decent with the ball at his feet. Certainly better suited to international football than Cahill.

Harry Kane taking corners?

Yep. I’ve had this conversation several times on here with a few posters, but I feel he gets judged a bit too harshly because of 3 anomalously bad games against Palace. Look at him over the course of his seasons at Hull and Leicester, and he’s a solid player.
