i would be upset if any England players showed more passion for another country while wearing an England shirt.

Weren't the goal celebrations a message that they wanted to play for the Eagles?

Bala, a former Kosovo Liberation Army guerrilla, died at the age of 60 after being granted early release in 2013.

The minute’s silence was proposed by MP Milaim Zeka from the governing coalition party NISMA (Initiative for Kosovo).

“All people in the world honour their values, their people, their heroes. Last night, a great man passed away, a man that has made a great contribution to this country, this nation, and thanks to him, we are sitting now in the parliament of Kosovo. I am speaking about Haradin Bala,” Zeka said.

...In November 2005, the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia found Haradin Bala guilty of torture, cruel treatment and murder, and sentenced him to 13 years of imprisonment.'

We are talking current rivalries here way beyond anything in our part of Europe....nothing to date in football terms topping the drone carrying the Albanian double eagle remotely piloted into the stadium in Belgrade causing the Serbia v Albania qualifier to be abandoned.

Many left Kosovo, with Switzerland being a popular destination.....you see them driving down through Montenegro in the summer to visit friends and family...and ,like the large numbers of other migrants from former Yugoslavia ,feel a sense of very strong connection with the 'homeland'.

Any suggestion of Shaqiri being signed by us I'd say would be madness given the zero potential for bonding between him and our captain.
13 years for torturing and murdering!

Of course. It was a dig at Serbia. The players can’t seriously deny they weren’t trying to provoke, or that it was spontaneous. If FIFA say this is O.K. It opens the door for all kinds of political statements.

It was also an expression of their own heritage. Frankly they have had to put up with comments from SVP MP's such as this

Swiss People’s Party right-wing parliamentarian Natalie Rickli; “I cannot honestly rejoice since the two goals were not scored for Switzerland but for Kosovo”

now compare and contrast

Xhaka’s uncle; “My nephews grew up in Switzerland with respect for the country and its culture. But they were educated in Albania with the love of family and Kosovo. Frankly, I would be incapable to say which is Swiss or Albanian for them. They are a perfect mix.”

We could have done with a few players with the wherewithal to pre-plan scoring a few goals last season. Sign 'em up!

They didn't bottle it, they took a cold hard look at how much it would cost them ratings rise if those two weren't playing and decided rightly it wasn't good for their bottom line. Fifa don't give a rats ass about what the right thing to do is, all they care about is money

Tough one, they were provoked but I do not believe in sportspeople pushing political messages during the game.

Is the double headed eagle gesture specially specific to albanian ultra nationalists?
