I think I'm right in saying that the council owns the ground, or at least some of it and given the state of council purses, I suspect that they are not in a position to subsidise it, or defer rental payments.

It was replied to me on another post somewhere that Coventry don't own the Ricoh, and that they do indeed need gates of 20k+ to break-even.

It was a bit of a shock to me too as I knew they were bought by Ranson, but if they have a stupid business-plan, it's going to happen.

There is usually a while between this sort of thing being mentioned and going into administration.

Hmmm, I can still remember when we were relegated from the Prem and a bunch of Coventry fans came on here taunting us and bragging that they would always escape. They have been dicing with death for yonks.

When Palace last played at Highfield Road, me and about 20 others were in the home end as the away had sold out by the time we got organised. 2 nil down and the Cov fans around us were gloating about Palace going nowhere and offering coffee bean shakes to the away end. A Freedman goal and news of a late Brian Deane strike against Wigan suddenly put Palace back in the play off places. Up we went celebrating and the previously cocky Cov melted back into their seats.

I've always been of the opinion that if you go in the home end at an away match, you should be respectful. But I'll admit to acting like a dick on this occasion.

If true will be bad for football all round, with the ecemnomic crisis as it is, all football investers will be looking harder at their investment, I'm glad we have CPFC2010 behind us.

Maybe there will be a big gate there tomorrow if only for the protest, it's more fun outsinging home fans, especially if they all turn out

None of the usual signs of Players not being paid or the IR taking them to court. What did they do in the transfer windows?

I've never really liked Coventry over the years, the trips to their old ground at Highfield Road were often miserable affairs, with just one or two exceptions, and we seemed unable to beat them at home for decades too - but of course, that is just so much sour grapes.

The fact is, Cov are one of Palace's longest standing rivals, for over a hundred years now. We are certainly no strangers to the sort of problems Coventry seem likely to face - this time last year, many of us felt that Palace could be playing their last few games as a professional club - none of us really knew that we would pull through - indeed, it seems that most of the football world still believe Palace are still in trouble now!

I think it would be really crass and classless if any of our fans were to taunt Coventry about their problems - it's no good for football if clubs start to go out of business, it has repercussions for all other clubs in terms of revenue lost from fixtures and other financial considerations that can effect the local community, not just the club that has to fold. If you start to lose clubs with the tradition and history of Coventry, the whole League suffers, not just the Cov fans.

The fear is that we may see a domino effect, where once one club goes out of business they start to drag others down with them, a bit like us coming out of Administration means smaller businesses have to take a hit from bills that are never paid or get just a few pence from thousands owed.

I certainly don't wish administration on any club, but, part of me sees this as a way to realign football clubs to a financial position that sustainable. I think we can see that Palace's new owners are being conservative in their approach and subsequently that has had an effect on the league position of Palace. Clubs like QPR and Cardiff are spending well beyond their true income levels and both are doing well this season. We do need a more conservative approach to running football clubs, to protect the future or soon no one will be able to afford to own a club. I always questioned Ransons approach to Coventry as they were in a very bad state when his consortium came in and yet he talked up "making funds available". Although, Coventry have not gone way over the top, they have been signing players on bigger wages than they can afford.

My wish would be to see the FA make restrictions on the Premiership teams, which in turn would filter down to the lower leagues, but, I doubt that will happen. I hope that UEFA new financial rule change for 2014 will help that, but, it should be happening within the English game, not being dictated by UEFA.

Is it bad that I saw this & although i'd never wish admin on anybody (even if they are Brummy scum), I saw it as a positive seeing as they'd go below us in the league with the points deduction?

Should I be ashamed of myself? Although I think a points deduction should have been applied when they signed that woman beating c*nt King.
