Not a total suprise. I want the club to resign him. But BFS did say last season that he believed Yo wanted to return to France. Dendoncker it is.

It is going to be a wrench, but we need to accept the probability that Both Cabaye and RLC will be gone before the start of next season.
As for RLC his England selection has most likely confirmed his departure, as for Cabaye can we really deny him the opportunity of returning "home" he is 32 and most likely has another 2 years left in football, i have always said they would be gone this summer.
The key to all of this will be what ambition our Board will show in their choice of replacements, it will be vital to give Roy the ammo needed to fight the battle that lays ahead next season.
We all have our views/opinions on who we would like to see join, so it will be interesting seeing who Roy Hodgson settes on, exciting few weeks ahead seeing who comes and who goes.

dont think he'll go if we offer the right terms, he loves london life and his ties geographically are closer to london than marseille

Dont footballers get taxed considerably more in France as well than in the UK? Or is this just a myth?

I imagine if we offered similar wages/structure for 2 years plus he will stay.

You can bet that any negotiations will be on the net rather than gross amount a player receives, so tax rate would be irrelevant to player.

I'm pretty sure that is the case in France.

There was a row I believe from some of the clubs against Monaco as they have a different tax regime but are in the same league providing them with more of a lure for players to join them!

This would be a bigger factor on a purely financial basis than the currency exchange situation.

Disagree. If he's being advised properly, they should take in to account all factors. When player's are coming up to the end of their career, it's more important than ever to ensure they are taking home as much as possible.

On the basis that he's probably earned about £12m in his 3 years at Palace he's hardly having to do prudent pension planning

Lot of knicker wetting on here based on one photo! Hopefully, he stays but Hodgson plays a system so other players will be able to fit into it if any players leave. If we lose Cabaye and RLC I suspect that Mutch will return and star for us next season alongside Lee.

Has he got 2 more years playing PL football in him, I don't think so, he is at the age where he will get injured more easy with increased recovery time. Surely better to invest in youth with a resale value. the easier less intense French league is a better option for him.

He's right that he's unlikely to offer the same value that he has done over the last 3 years.

On the other hand, it's expensive to find and sign a player, not to mention risky that they don't turn out the way you hoped.

So Cabaye on a lower wage would be the ideal.

Said by the same person who at the start of the season said Milivojevic was behind Puncheon, Cabaye, RLC and McArthur in the pecking order.

I think we can safely say you are clueless when it comes to recognising a players footballing ability.

Assuming Loftus-Cheek isn't here next year, then I think it is really important to keep Cabaye. Having to change half our first choice midfield and then hit the ground running would be a big ask.
