I do hope Steve has said if he goes it’s early. No deal in the last week of the transfer window. His departure changes everything about how we play. Of that happens we need time to replace him and use the money on our other requirements and we need a pre season post wilf. Eg.. you can go if we have an acceptable offer by 10th July latest or something. Preferably earlier still
Agreed. In danger of sounding like HD, we’ve got Wilf on a 5 year contract and we can reject any deal that doesn’t suit. The only danger we face is a disgruntled Wilf stuck playing for Palace because Steve turned down his dream move. The way to avoid that is frank discussions with Wilf and his agent and getting everyone on the same page regarding the type of deal we’ll accept. Once that is hammered out it’s up to his agent to go find the buyer. Parish has done well to have Wilf under a long contract and has given himself a strong position from which to negotiate. We’ll see...

I suspect this whole thing will be like a house purchase. We could have players lined up to come in dependent on Wilf going, so even if the deal doesn't get done until late in the window, expect a Wilf out and 3 in day scenario

As much as we fans dont want to see Zaha leave and ,ake no mistake he Will be a huge loss, but lets get real can CPFC really afford to refuse any offer in excess of say £65m?also if the player himself wants to leave off course not, but remembering Man Utd recieve 25% of any fee.
The club has a rebuilding task ahead in the summer without question, and if we are told that funds are at a premium then it can only mean having to sell to buy, but should he be allowed to leave? when that could also see an exodus of players like AWB and Sakho, with possibly Luka, Tomkins and Townsend becoming restless and we never know how also disillusioned, then players can question our ambitions if Wilf Zaha who is such a crucial cog in our wheel and players know that if he was to leave.
Also lets not forget there are question marks over the clubs future ownership, the never ending saga of the Stadium development which clearly will reflect on what funds will be available to bring in quality replacements that will be desperately needed. Finally the last thing we would want is even more confusion and upheavel by changing the manager, afterall which quality replacement would want to step into Roy's shoes under those circumstances? it promises to be a very interesting and possibly confusing summer ahead AGAIN for us long suffering CPFC fans.

We'll be able to buy him back in 18 months for £20m.

As long as those other 3 haven't already moved somewhere else. That's the risk.

They conned him into thinking that we were a club with ambition, but in reality our ambition is only to survive relegation for as many years as possible, it is not our ambition to go for Top 10 and then Europe: our transfer policy in the last 3 windows tells us that.

I believe Zaha would stay at Palace if we could show him that we are ambitious as a club, but time is running out if it hasn’t already. If we could have finished Top 10 and then pushed on again to challenge for Europe the following season with ambitious signings rather than squad padding who knows? Instead the mood music coming out of the club is that we want to cash in on AWB. How is that going to show our greatest ever player that we want to progress? There’s only so long we can continue to pull the wool over Wilf’s eyes.

To fail is one thing, to not even try to harness the unusual ability of Zaha to push the club on is poor, and instead we have stagnated at best, and gone backwards more likely. The club are unlikely to get this kind of opportunity again. We probably need new owners in order to match Wilf’s ambitions if we are to have any hope of keeping Wilf long term.

In the meantime, to try to buy us another year, as well as splashing £100m on transfer targets, Zaha should be made club captain. His new found maturity that is evident on and off the pitch should be rewarded with the arm band. He has more passion than the rest of the squad combined. If Milivojevic won’t sign a new deal (one year left) strip him of the captaincy and give it to Wilf. Massive summer coming up. I said that last summer, but things are really coming to a head now after our shambles of a transfer window in summer 2018. It really is make or break. Decisions are going to have to be made and further delay is unlikely to be an option.
Can we seriously get over the Cabaye love-in now? He no longer wanted to play for us, wanted to seek mega bucks and I'm on record as saying many times whilst he was with us that he wasn't and never proved to be the influential player we thought we were buying.

Good luck to Wilf, he's been a great servant to the club and I hope he does well elsewhere. We're not and never have been the club that can keep hold of star quality players so it was always going to be, so long as he had the ambition.

The palace board continue to invest on limited income, stating lack of ambition when it's someone else's money is easy to state.

Cabaye was massively underrated. He was a class player for us and our midfield is poorer without him. If we’d have kept him we would be solid mid table

Class at taking corners or free kicks? Class at shots outside the box?

If we wernt solid mid table with him when he was with us, why would you summise that we would be mid table now if we had him?

We generally did finish solid mid table with him.

If you don’t think Cabaye was any good then you don’t know much about football
