I think if he may be good enough to go to a Championship team.

Would be a great loan for all parties. We need to start aiming higher with the divisions we loan out players out to. Championship is a step in the right direction for our academy prospects.

He may well be, but I imagine being dropped towards the end of the season by a league 2 team will put off potential suitors in the championship. It seems that Garner opted for experienced defenders in the run in.
I think he is a good player, but I think he needs to prove himself at league 1 level before going to the championship. |

Just because us loaning playing in the past hasnt worked out doenst mean it wont in the future. I believe the calibre of players, facilities and guidance has been improved significantly since the days of Jake Grey and Jerome Binnon-Williams. Those players would have been signed when we were in the Championship, these players have come to is as an established Premiership outfit.

Jake O’Brien loan
Nixon:
Joey Barton is making a bold bid to sign Crystal Palace centre half Jake O’Brien for Bristol Rovers. Barton wants O’Brien to join his side on loan and he is offering him a better chance of first team football than rivals Barnsley. Crystal Palace are sending under-23 skipper Malachi Boateng to Scottish Championship side Queen’s Park on loan. Midfield sitter Boateng will be allowed out to get game time after being part of the squad that went to Australia for a pre season tour. Boateng can develop with Owen Coyle’s team and return to Palace with more experience under his belt.

Joey Barton. Numerous disciplinary charges. Gambling issues. Putting out cigarette in a youth player's eye. Criminal record for multiple assaults. Currently awaiting trial for domestic abuse.
Sounds like a great role model for developing our youth players. |

Sion Spence was on loan with him last season.

He hardly developed Spence last year. Who scored a few goals when played and was then left out of most matchday squads. As for Boateng going to Queens Park, thats a death nail. The football must be worst than the National League. We’d be better of loaning him to somelike like Bromley or Welling. |

Re Boateng - Not an obvious choice that one. Banks got games up there and I don’t think Michail has shown as well in the last 12 months. He needs to step up and hopefully this will allow him to show what he can do. Can’t learn anything in U21 having played at that level for 4 seasons ? Or more?

I think a step up to League One for O’Brien in an area of the country he is now familiar with is a good move. |

Boateng never gonna make it, good luck to the kid but don't really know why we renewed his contract. O'Brien, L1 would be a good step up from last season, hopefully he can do well there as he definitely has decent potential.
