Yeah, it seems unlikely to me.

'The Sun journalist Tom Barclay is excited by the prospect of Anthony Martial joining Crystal Palace when the transfer window reopens in January, although he accepts a deal may be unlikely.'
I rang Tom Barclay and asked him if he is excited at the prospect of Harry Kane joining Palace and he said 'Yes'. He added that he did not think it would happen.

Undoubtedly would be a top signing. Never going to happen though.

I'd rather take a chance on Nketiah. Not quite the same player, levels, or stage of career, but he would fit our transfer strategy, and if people thought our Ayew was sullen, Martial would take the biscuit, the cake, and the custard too.

I'm not sure Martial would be tempted to accept a 90% drop in wages even if he is guaranteed a few cameo opportunities from the bench.

Are we expected to believe this nonsense rumour? yes he is very talented but it's his layed back and aloof attitude on and off the pitch would make him a nightmare getting him to commit for clubs like Palace, especially when Man Utd one of the biggest clubs in World football are unable to get him to focus and fully commit on the pitch.
Our gradual success that is being constructed by Vieira is being built mostly on team unity, workrate and togetherness. So to bring in a selfish moody player however talented, would be the easiest way to destroy all that hard work and not forgetting the huge wages he would demand would be the easiest way to create a division within the camp. Even though we all know this is just some journalist simply putting together a fantasy story, SP and PV will know otherwise. |

Only hope for us is another season long loan. that might be possible if Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic are still there.

Plus they already have Mount, Barkley, Pulisic, Ziyech, Havertz, Niguez, Hudson-Odoi and Loftus-Cheek. And I bet in a few months time, we'll be hearing about a couple more midfielders they want to bring in. Granted, they don't all play the same position or style, but my guess is they would sell him for the right price. (Whatever that is)

Given how good our hierarchy was at keeping our targets mostly under wraps going into the summer, I'd think that most anything appearing in the press now is guesswork at best, or maybe even our Sporting Director deflecting attention away from the real targets.
The exception being Mateta going as that makes sense, assuming we have a replacement lined up (probably Dike). |

Quietly confident if he......and we continue to make progress then at 21 he stay with us another year and gets a contract extension at Chelsea. Barkley and RLC wages would be an issue for us and return to a strategy behind us so cant see that happening. |

If he extends his contract wages will go through the roof and doubt we could realistically afford that either. Best chance is if they are willing to let him go and we can afford to buy. I would hate to play against him next season
