Calling Brighton, your relegation is ready.

Not much would be funnier than watching the Champions League winners of 2021 get relegated before they got anywhere near the Champions League. With their massive debt they really are ****ed, so I want to maximise the amusement with this little run-in calculator.

I would miss them though, because I think they would hit financial trouble fast and sink like Bolton. The past 3 years has been fun with all the stupid weeds on here, but it can't go on forever.

So here it is, I reckon 38 ought to be enough.

The last three games could be against teams that are mid table and safe. They just have to hope they aren’t adrift by then.

Hence the generous 5 points in the last 3 awarded. I don't think they'll make it tbh, I can see them getting about 8 max from this run in and then it's down to who that 8 is against.

Home games will be crucial. Unfortunately away teams raise their game when they look at the magnificent stadium and awesome support.

This is very true, most clubs regard a trip to the Amex as their cup final.

That away fixture against Norwich could be immensely funny. If they don't get any of the bonus points before then - not that unlikely - and then lose that, they will be in total meltdown.

I think they've got to beat them and Toon or else they're goosed.

They wonít even consider not winning those two games, a bit like how many they would beat us by.

It could but you haven't won this year and Saturday showed why. You just can't score, decent play up to the last quarter but no end product.

"Potterball". Loads of possession in that central third which the opposition allow you to have. Man City show exactly how possession should work from there with the first goal they scored vs Villa. Slowly and slowly, then switching play very quickly to stretch the back line to fast run from deep with players getting into positions where they all know where that ball is going to be placed. It was a beautiful goal.

Who do they have who can do that? Wasn't Connoly meant to be the answer to some of this? No, the weed see the possession stats and think they are doing it. Tbh I can't believe they had 28 shots, they must be counting those long wild swipes from distance and stabs that were easily blocked. I didn't feel there was a threat, they had 3 decent chances, but hey, we had 4 of those ourselves.

I agree, I can't see them getting more than 8 points from that run in. They really have to beat Norwich and Newcastle. Norwich are starting to play with gay abandon, which is right up Brighton's alley.

The key to all this is for Potter to remain in situ. Hopefully he'll pickup a few draws.

It seems that their forecast of 41 points and a 15th placed finish was rubbish after all and clearly had not taken their run of only 3 wins in their last 26 games or the difficulty level of their remaining games into account.

They are as good as gone and lack the stomach and bottle to win this season's relegation battle as pretty passing with very little end product will not cut it.

Amusing that they have already rewarded the instigator of this failed style of play a new long term contract as it clearly does not work in the Premier League and might not work in the Championship either.

MIND THE 8 POINT GAP
