There could have been an intangible increase such if we were top 8 every year playing in front of 34k every week so someone might buy us for even more but again that would be too much of a risk.
Why did they buy into the club then when the £100 m was supposedly ring fenced for the new stand .

They bought in as expected future TV revenues to increase in Prem, thereby making every Prem club more valuable. But fee fell for last domestic TV deal and bigger clubs successfully lobbied for a bigger share of overseas tv rights income.

They prob thought they could flip their shares for more once the brand went up in value. I'm guessing they've caught up with football finance and how it generally doesn't work apart from a few very small amount of exceptions. There's certainly no way to make much money out of Palace

This is key. Building the brand is hard in football and exploiting overseas revenue.

Top line is so hard to grow outside of tv money.
Out balance sheet hasn’t imported with the investment in the ground and more prevalent the poor singings and no player sales.

They're both American, our badge is red white and blue, and we're called the Eagles.

If they couldn't increase our value by exploiting overseas revenue, it's their own damn faults. We briefly had a team in the USL before they came along ffs...they barely even tried!

The explosion in revenue will come when clubs start selling online season tickets and charging for streaming. The gap between the big clubs and the rest will be massive, but all clubs will have the rights to their home games. Imagine how much Palace can make from charging a couple of quid for Palace v Man Utd to all of the Man Utd fans around the world.

Who says that all clubs will have full rights to their home games?

I guess rather that Man U would own their own brand/all matches (Man U fans could buy access to all matches home/away from their club). And Palace getting a smaller % of the income. Seems more realistic.

My thoughts on that are that the big clubs will get a massive increase over the current funds they get. But clubs like ours will see a reduction in income as only a few big home games will sell well.

It's what the big clubs ultimately want. They threaten to end the collective sale of tv rights and a move to this model every time they want a bigger share of current tv deals. Which is why the other clubs usually cave in. For example, recently over ending the equal 20 way split of overseas tv income.

As I said, the gap will grow. It will be terrible for football, but I think there will be a lot more money for owners to trouser than there is now.

Fair question, but logically clubs must have rights to their home games. Otherwise they could presumably not allow cameras in. I certainly recall seeing an article on this that said clubs would be able to sell on a pay per view basis to their opponents' online season ticket base. If that's correct it could be possible to make what we currently get from a year of TV from a single game against Man Utd given their worldwide fanbase.
