NW has always tried to rewrite history wherever he goes. Look at the BS he spoke about Van Dijk and others.

His tapping up of Jules and Ambrose was relentless when he went to QPR. Fortunately both stayed and the rest is history.

Agreed

Like it or not and what ever the real circumstances, the money recurved for Warnock did help us stay afloat until the end of the season and played a part in our survival, whether by design or not.

Letís not derail the celebration of this fine video and the team and celebrate that final day that kept us up.

Warnock and QPR got together because they felt it would be beneficial to them to do so, they werenít doing us a favour. And if they could have stripped us then of some of our most crucial players too, they would have done.
I remember at the time that the media was full of rumours about who QPR would take from us. It certainly felt like they were sticking the boot in. Remember thy were in the relegation dog fight themselves till late in the season hence their interest in some of our stars at knockdown price

Warnock himself criticises the administrator in that interview for not being able to guarantee his job. I think thatís the administrator doing his job correctly...he would not be in a position to do that until any new owners took over, and then it would be up to them whether Warnock stayed.

Warnockís not short of a bob. He could have stayed a couple more months till the end of the season and then reassessed. He looked after himself...which I donít think is entirely reprehensible, but Iíd rather heíd been more honest about it instead of blaming the administrator.

This is the Man who said in Autumn 2007, upon joining Palace said 'This will be my last job in Football'.

Seems likely to me that he wanted out but also we needed the cash. Jordan in his wisdom doubled his salary a year or so before (for no reason) so his wages were crippling + the compo meant that Danns, Speroni , Ambrose need not be sold. Ultimately this was right for the club in the short term.

It is a fair point that after nabbing Derry and Hill fairly he didn't need to go after Speroni & Ambrose so relentlessly. Lucky for us both stayed.

Been going since the sixties but Hillsborough still stands out above the others, Wrexham, Scouse semi, cup finals...

Got separated from my mates post match among the 'howling mob' outside and was 'rescued' by an elated Blades fan who flagged down a bus driven by his mate, also a Blade, who then drove back along that road full of angry 'ooligans. In hindsight a great day but I still break out in a sweat to this day when of it. I don't think any of the scousers in Madrid last night will ever feel the way we did that day even winning the European cup
.

I liked Warnock. I remember leaving a pub at Norwood Junction after a game and NW came past in his car.....we didn't see him but had our Palace shirts on. He wound down his window and had a good chat with us for a few minutes....I thought it was a really nice touch, must have been 8pm on a Saturday and I'm sure he would have wanted to get home. Granted, he does some crap stuff too.
