Can he break up play and then release someone into space like cabaye? If not then does he offer much more than max, kouyate or jimmy?
Heís not a box to box MF.
Iíd class him as a deep lying playmaker.
He makes passes, moves the ball well etc.
Heíll need quick players in front of him.
I think heís more like what we thought we were getting with Max.

Fulham workmate, says he is an excellent passer of the ball. Needs to play alongside a more defensive m/f.
Sounds exactly what we need to become more creative, especially at home.

This sounds like a Palace transfer, good player, not lived up to billing potentially gettable on loan thus costing way less than he's probably actually worth if Fulham hadn't been the hopeless leaky pretty but ultimately useless shitshow that they are. It's a position we've been serially shit in for years barring two comets colliding the one year we had RLC, Yohan and Luka all in the midfield at the same time.

They were an enjoyable five minutes, when we had a good passer, tackler and runner in the same midfield. Unfortunately, reports now indicate Seri favours leaving the Prem for foreign football.

Meyer had as many contributions to goals as Seri did in 60% of the pitch time. Many argue that we should be looking at Mitrovic (not my personal view) so it cannot be said that he did not have a striker to work with.

I would have him in a very similar place to Meyer who i think needs to play more, but we are currently overstocked in those sort of players in our squad at the moment, Meyer, Townsend, McArthur, Kouyate.

If we can get him for the £10 Fulham apparently paid Nice or with little to no loan fee that would make sense but whilst funds are limited, i am not sure he would be priority for big outlay.
Apart from playing in midfield they are all different types of misfielder

This one does seem quite a realistic option, but it won't happen for weeks.

Fulham will hold out for a permanent transfer as long as possible, but seems unlikely they will recoup anything close to the transfer fee.

Taking him on loan for the season would be very sensible business.

Looks to have a great eye for a through ball, which we've been lacking. Tricks to keep us entertained too.
Would prefer him to Jimmy Mac playing alongside Luka.

This is just the kind of player we should be looking for. If we did sign him I would not worry too much about his being 'box to box' or defensive, quick or a physical player (although I do think we need a bit more physicality in the side). He would presumably play to help us retain posession and create chances against defensive teams. He wouldn't need to start or even play in every game but would give us something different for games such as our home match against Cardiff last season or when we're ahead and need to keep the ball. 6 more points at home and we're in 8th place.

I think if we do this one it will be a late loan. Cannot see anyone paying the £20-25m that Fulham apparently paid to get him at the moment.

Itís all well and good having an eye for a through ball but when that through ball is to the mobile sideboard that is Benteke, it ainít much use

That is a very valid point you raise, as when playing a "through ball" from deep positions it needs a Centre Forward as you rightly say capable of taking advantage and unfortunately CB does not have the fluency and movement for it.
Players who could are Batshuayi and Andre Gray also to a lesser degree when fit Wickham can fill that role, however regardless we should bring in Seri as he would be a great bit of business and would flourish under Roy's guidance as he would know exactly what his role would be, very different to when at Fulham.

I said they're unlikely to recoup what they paid for him.

Which was reported as a £30m double deal for him and Le Marchand. However the deal was structured, if you take into account basic transfer fee plus wages, signing and agent fees, their investment in the player so far will have exceeded £10m.

Not many PL teams are interested in relegated players, and not many foreign clubs have that kind of money.

But feel free to wang on remorselessly about some abominable accounting technicality, as is your wont.

You said recoup what they paid, which is usually taken as the fee they paid when talking about footballers. According to legal action taken by the player and former clubs that was £10m.

For £10m it wouldn't be a bad deal.

Yes, but I'm hoping we use the cash from AWBs move to buy or loan Batshuayi.
