With Giroud extending his deal, Abraham coming back from injury and Werner strongly linked, I wonder if we'll try and get bats on a season loan..

The "problem" is quite unexpectably and by default unearthed a gem in AWB and fans think it can all happen again, and now all the talk is Ferguson a raw 19yr old can be that person a player most have never seen perform and certainly Never at premiership level, yet seem to think he will be our saviour when clearly he would still be a gamble but a player we need to show patience with if he signs.
So much talk on here of Palace needing to flood the team with signings of youngsters when our priority should always be staying in the premiership, and that has always been Roy Hodgsons priority if not could well spell problems, when in reality we need a "happy" mix of youth and experience as Cahill has shown what experience brings even at nearly 36 yrs old he has been outstanding.
You need a "spine" of experience running through the middle of the team, and currently in goal Guiata gives us that quality, and for now Cahill and Tomkins offers rock solid stability in Central Defence, in Midfield we are still searching for that special player to knit things together someone like Cabaye, that is able to control things and make players tick around him. Finally we still need that special Striker that can work alongside Zaha and develop that side of his game, unfortunately the Benteke experiment has not worked hence why i still feel Batshuayi could be that player we need to complete that Spine.
I doubt a new striker will get many games to play alongside Zara, if any. he is even more determined to leave.

would be a great long term prospect as well and with Cahill and Tomkins to support him initially certainly would be worth a go.

And that is the biggest question, what realistically is the best price we can get for him, bearing in mind utd get 15m of it...

20% up to £15m isnít it? Given we are not going to get £75m for him it will be 20% of whatever we do minus the £5m or so we paid. If we sold for £50m the we would pay Utd £9m and we get £41m.

If we sold him, got Sakho off the wage bill and I assume Bentekeís wages are reduced in his extension that will do wonders to our wage bill and reduce expectations of anyone joining.

Sakho might go to lyon, but I can't see anyone paying 50m for Wilf atm, and certainly not a trophy winning team that would consider him a first team player

No I meant reduce. At the moment players are coming to a club that pays wages over £100k a week. IF Zaha and Sakho were to go and Bentekes wages have reduced then that would no longer be the case. Less leverage for incoming players.

I read that as reducing the salary expectations of any potential signings, which seems to make sense as it reduces the upper benchmark in negotiations.

Wasn't that impressive tonight but I'd take King for cheap too.

Wilsons good but his injuries worry me.

Eze would most certainly flourish in that vibrant style we saw last night.

As much as our fans would love to see him join Palace, realistically we have no chance as there will be several "big boys" after him also his value will probably be around £30m if not higher.
But there are some good players to be had should they go down.

Donít think Bournemouth will be in a strong position to dictate transfer fees if they do go down.

Read a few pieces about their financial prospects if relegated and itís not pretty. Pretty sure their wages have exceeded turnover for the last few seasons. Also some pretty hefty future transfer payments due next year.
