He never had a decent chance with us and clearly doesn't want to be here anymore and who can blame him. We're desperate for a fit striker. Given Sorloths last 6 months he really should be here doing preseason training with us and starting tomorrow.
Totally agree.

If we were linked with him now having never signed him in the first place, we'd be excited about this deal.

Having read the thread I took yet another look at the goals he has been scoring in Turkey. As ever, see a matching YouTube of screwups alongside it would provide a better view but guess what, they donít exist. Anyway, from the Ďgood bitsí you clearly see a powerful confident goalscorer who typically powers the ball into the net with his head or foot. I.e. even his Ďtap-ins seem to be hammered. I didnít do this scientifically (counts) but the impression I was left with was that his goals broadly fall into 3 rough types. Breakaways with defenders outnumbered or 1 on 1, headers (a lot) and confident volleys etc of crosses. No shock but in the PL I donít think we see as many of the first 2 categories due to the defensive setup/styles and defender quality.

Should have said at the beginning this is difficult to articulate or even categorise but he obviously looks confident, powerful and is undoubtedly effective. I donít doubt he would score but we donít see as many of those first two categories of chances in the PL do we?

We would no doubt be drooling over the confident finishing on show if we were trying to sign him.

I doubt you could do that in the PL though.

That says everything.

a player who scored almost 25 goals last season, was involved in over 30, is the subject of £20m bids from other clubs and some consider he might be ok back-up to Ayew?

The problem was Palace were desperate to move Sorloth on and felt they had a good deal when the Turkish club came along, little did they know it would turn out as it has and he would be attracting so much attention from the top clubs.
Clearly we have a deal in place with the Turkish club initially a 2yr loan then an agreement to buy at a given fee, so i assume if Palace now decide to sell we are committed into paying them part of that fee, hence why we seem reluctant to sell even at £20m which has been quoted as we push for a higher figure to compensate the loss.
The problem could be we end up with egg on our face if the clubs interested pull out of any deal, and if we dont want him and he does not wish to rejoin us we are in limbo. Just accept say £22m with a 20% sell on clause added, and use the funds to buy Origi if not on a years loan, and buy the youngster at Huddersfield (ex Charlton) and that should fulfill our striker needs.
But we MUST try and move on either Benteke or Wickham to ease the wage situation.

While I totally agree I just canít see anyone signing them as CB canít score and Wickham is constantly injured.

He still hasn't proven anything in the Premier League. That isn't to say he won't, but it is at least a risk.

Tbh if Palace can sell for over 20m, then they should as Sorloth for whatever reason doesn't fit in at the club.
