What business turns down a extra 1m ?

Two things that should never have been invented.... nuclear weapons and Football Manager.

(I love football manager really)

Except if that happened we would have made a net £3m loss compared to £7m profit in the situation described above!

Terminating their contract would not be an attractive prospect for many players. The current crisis aside, if the player terminates his loan period early then it would be unlikely that the player would be able to play in competitive games for his parent club, or any other club during the remainder of that season.

I dont know what happens on a two year loan deal though

And that is assuming we actually have to pay 9m to Trab, and that he cost 9m up front.

But we get 16m that we donít currently have. Unless some of that initial 9m purchase fee is only now due. I.e. using your figures.

Knowing the way we structure deals, we probably still owe a shit load from his original purchase.

So we should take a £3 million loss and watch Trabzon sell for £20 million?? Now , that would be a disastrous piece of business.

This deal seems to be structured so that everyone involved stands to lose - even the buying Club can't buy because the selling Club can't sell...

Who agreed a deal where we have to pay 9m to get our own player back?

I hope we learn lessons from this transfer.

Anyway... itís not as if we need a goal scoring striker right now anyway

Think it’s around £6m we’ve actually forked out.

The way it works even if we sold him to trab for £6m... it would show as profit on the books. Imo... all this is paper/agent talk to try get him a big move while he’s banged some goals in... personally think he’ll stay where he is all season.

If we sort of own a striker who is wanted by a team who made the Champions League semi finals couldn't we think about bringing him back and playing the sort of football that has resulted in him becoming one of the most sought after strikers in europe? I know it's not that easy but seems a mad situation!

He has no interest in coming back to play for us. Don’t blame him after the way he was treated by both Roy and some fans. He has said in several interviews that he likes to play in sides that attack and create chances. Under Roy that’s not us. Hopefully this all gets resolved soon and we end up making some money on it so we can go out and sign a new striker. Good luck to the bloke at Leipzig, I have no doubt he will bang in 20 goals for them this season.

What is the chance weíll cancel his loan and actually play him here for the season?

There was plenty, and he was only 21 and got very few chances. But he ended up one of those who gets a slagging regardless. And then there's the opposite, such as with "Messiah" Meyer, who I think is basically lightweight and a Barry Bannan, I can't tell the difference, but no, despite him doing feck all after tons of chances he has a strong vocal support about how great he'll be in the middle. He won't.

It's no surprise to me that he's done well elsewhere. It's not clairvoyance, it's just noticing the little things that the Premier Fantasy League playing mugs don't seem to notice. No point in explaining to you tbh.

in the absence of anything better.

Palace's XG in his first season was the 6th best in the Premier League (Sorloth's season actually). Then we let quality players go and didn't replace them. Who knew. The next season we were 12th in the table. Then we still didn't replace them, had Wilf playing with a long face and left a team with no goals on the pitch (player wise) and we ended up bottom but still safe before lock down in March.

So there is only one season where we have created far less chances and that was last year. There is only so much water you can get out of a sponge.

I suppose(and it is not a criticism) he doesn't want to spend the game defending. I think Wilf is the same but has grown used to it.

Why is everyone struggling with this? It’s simple.

We give Traz, £8.1 million to get our own player back.
Sorlorth gives Palace £350k
Then if Lepzing pay us £21 million we will then only need to pay the original purchase price plus 18% sell on.
Traz will be owed a termination fee but we can deduct this from the £8.1 million, so it is likely we will only need to pay around 6% of the agreed fee.
If Traz pay the agent then our original £6 million is amourtised across the original 3 year deal leaving us to pick up only the loyalty extension clause, around 3% of profit.
This will be reduced because the profit is offset against the asset.
So in a nut shell, nobody really has a clue and it would have been far easier if he’d continued to look like an oversize mascot who stayed on the pitch after kick off
