Just a few articles to show I didn't make up at least one of the points I raised about BLM;

There many more. I'm not going to produce evidence for everything I stated because that's just playing the Leftist game here. There's only so many hoops I'll jump through for people who want and need only to damn people who won't share their opinions. The same people who never offer adult, respectful counter-arguments nearly as much as they like to condemn from within their ideological cliques.

These links above are for people still unaware of this kind of thing who are open and genuinely curious. Unlike some, I don't twist reality to suit the ideology I choose to clad myself in. I produce my viewpoints from attention to widespread opinions and testing their validity with research. That's how I went from being woke to awake. There will be others here who are perhaps similarly at a crossroads.

Anyway, I'm done with this thread. I'm not going to bother responding to the toxicity of certain posters here for the personal things they chose to write about me today, instead of debating. Funny thing is my post before last was about the very base level at which people debate in politics these days, often little more sophisticated than schoolyard spats. Sadly, the reaction from the usual suspects here, to my later BLM post, only demonstrated the sad levels of discourse I described earlier. It's not worth a direct reply.

Anyway, for the Lefty-clique here; take this post and have a nice fur-licking party and purr together in mutual, superior pleasure at your self-righteousness. What's amazing is I've never called out any particular poster here in my admitted rants about SJW politics. I've always believed people here can believe what they like. I wanted to put my two pence in and everyone could do the same. But that same charity just doesn't go the other way when it comes to the radicalized, modern Left. They just cannot tolerate dissent from their viewpoint. It's almost like they are defending religious dogma. Or a cult.

I find it sad that, fellow supporters of the football club that I have followed for many years, can revel in character assassination and make hateful comments simply because their views differ.

You should try bunking off during a lockdown to see your girlfriend

Pretty girl you say? Hmmm that's interesting. On a completely unrelated note, have they told you exactly when and where the next meeting is? I feel compelled to offer my support.

It seems a bit odd that the people decrying the presence of politics in football are the same ones starting political threads on football message boards or submitting comically long posts full of all the latest buzzwords like 'Marxists', SJWs' and 'the radical left'. I was happily reading about Jach's first performance and Wayne's ridiculous penalty miss last night, with nary a mention of anything political until this thread appeared.

Left that one out as it is the kind of uttering the nutter kid says the day before he brings in a gun and murders his classmates.

Surely attempting to fix a broken system is a fundamentally political act. Any challenge to the established order is always political.

BLM is political for sure. I can understand the ‘it’s not political it’s just equality’ retorts though, as the anti BLM crowd are rarely worth debating, or even have any interest in debating faithfully.

Then it’s always been political in football and as such, people can’t moan about dragging politics into football.

Did you know the English team did a Nazi salute in 1938

The HF has no qualms about using football as a part of engaging with the community. For example supporting food banks. Clubs spring up from and are part of their local society.

This makes interesting reading.

A man as good as my word, I spent much of night on YouTube learning all about Mr Marx, his philosophy and writings. You can probably add me to the list of people you could accuse of being a Marxist and you'd be at least partially right. In fact, whatever you think about his ideologies, you can't really argue that he wasn't spot on about the pitfalls of capitalism. Bit harsh to also blame him for any of the 'flawed' (putting it kindly) 20th century applications of his ideology, seeing as he was dead before anyone of note had even read this work, let alone tried to implement any of it.

Marx wasnít a Marxist, he himself was appalled at how his theories were people adapted by other people. To view the link you have to Register or Login

He only proposed what was wrong with capitalism and not how to create a communist society.

Are you sure you're not more of a marxist than you realise?

The kind of right wing websites that bang on about "cultural marxism" are almost always written by US bloggers etc, who seem to have a pretty limited idea of what marxism, (cultural or otherwise) actually is. It's the sort of issue that people will disagree about but BLM is for many (inc me) on the left more akin to radical liberalism than anything I'd recognise as marxist. Marxism can be thrown at a lot of different political positions but the unifying thing about it - to be remotely meaningful - is that it's an ideology that says that the underlying driver of human behaviour is material, i.e. it's about economics - follow the money. The other stuff - race, nationality, gender, political party etc is all secondary - in the (much simplified) jargon those things are 'superstructural', not 'substructural'.

Obsessing about identity politics is literally standing this on its head, and this is what BLM - and other similar movements do. Yes they tend to tack on a boilerplate denunciation of "neo-liberalism" somewhere on their literature but there's literally no serious attempt to analyse how an anti-racist movement, or a spontaneous uprising against police violence can help undo the damage that neo-liberalism is inflicting on our lives.

For many BLM supporters a pretty decent end-result of all of this protesting is that 1% of the population continue ruining the lives of everyone else so long as the 1% are properly racially representative of the wider population. Hoorah! Equal ops crony capitalism.

For me, that's basically no change whatsoever. In fact it could be argued that it shores up the great God of our time - The Free Market since it argues that the Market (wise beyond the understanding of any of us, and the distributor of impartial justice, that rewards the virtuous and condemns the wrong-doer) is flawed only in that racism impedes the proper working of the market - it creates "artificial" barriers to trade and to the progress of the merited ones. For the market to assume its most perfect, natural form, racism must go.

Since anyone with any wits can see that actually the Market is a scam operated by the hyper rich, who mostly got where they are by inheritance the idea that some 'perfectly functioning' market is non-racist is just a total red herring. In fact setting Identity at a huge premium and having everyone tear lumps out of each other, based on their age, gender, race, sexuality, whatever, does a wonderful job of preventing the kind of unity that would allow ordinary people to actually force some change for the better. ID politics is just great for the super-elites, it literally is an opportunity not a threat.

Are you saying that you are - or were - someone who would have called themselves "on the Left"? Because that looks like what you're saying here.

In today-s world we could do with a bit of Marxism and Anarchism.

As long as it doesn't turn the UK or elsewhere into a communist or socialist state.

That is the problem. Those on the extreme left and the founders of the BLM (it seems) want a fairer world for the poor, downtrodden and the working class. The see themselves as having a right as educated liberal lefts to stand up for the downtrodden.

Problem is, when the fight is won against the most corrupt of the capitalists, they seize power and then put a structure in place that makes it impossible for them to lose power. They turn into the very thing they were protesting and fighting against, and usually a worst form of it as far as disallowing protest, democracy, and human rights is concerned.

Still, it is odd to have Palace fans vehemently defending a status quo that is bulit around elite groups screwing everyone else over to maintain and increase their wealth.

And BBSers rally against opening posts like this because we can't be sure whether the poster is a genuine Palace fans or someone trying to infiltrate their nasty views among the fanbase.

As for others slagging the BBS off for bullying posters like this off, and then wondering why they waste their own time posting...you protest too much. The easiest and best thing for all concerned is for you to feck right off back under the rock you crawled from.
