Next manager discussion (summer 2020)
Quote:
Oh I agree wholeheartedly and said the same in the match day thread. If he’s not going to be manager next season (surely he won’t) then we may as well give someone a chance to see the players and get used to them and have the whole preseason. Prob won’t happen though before season ends. |

Make the change now. He won't be backed so needs to be replaced.

Next manager discussion (summer 2020)
Quote:
Howe has become the Roy of Bournemouth - stale and clearly not the players aren’t taking directives from him. He needs to go like Roy does and face a new challenge. Howe is a bit of a arse but been excellent for Bournemouth on the whole. |

I want the Cheltenham manager, Michael Duff, we could have Duffman and his assistants Duff Stout and Duff Light.

We won't get a new manager.
We are safe and thats all Steve cares about. |

Roy might feel like the time is right to go now with his head held high. He hasn’t been backed at any stage of his tenure so any new manager would have to bear this in mind.
I’ve always backed Roy but this feels like the right time to leave , sad as it is , but abuse of him is out of order. For a long shot as a new manager how about Steven gerrard ?

There is absolutely no point changing the manager unless we have better player recruitment. We have a squad full of defensive minded players, with Wilf, Townsend, Benteke and Ayew as the only attackers. Any manager would produce turgid football with these players (not to completely excuse Hodgson).

I really doubt that, remember he got De Boer in knowing it was a radical change. I do think the US owners are happy as long as we maintain our Premier League 'franchise' though.

If we did make a change, I think Steve Bruce would be a good choice if he is discarded by any new Newcastle regime.

If we are looking to offload Meyer and Riedewald it makes sense to showcase them. If we are looking to use them next season, the answer is the same. That is especially so as many of the older players simply are not performing. |

Just back Roy. He’s a good manager. Any new manager will have the same problems with a small ageing squad.
Today was really poor no doubt, but not worthy of getting rid of your manager. |
