Oh and by all means conveniently ignore the modicum of success he had you know where, which actually enabled him to get those opportunities to fail. |

It's the Brentford structure that allows their managers to perform. That's what we need from Brentford - a coherent long term strategy and player recruitment model. The managers that have moved on from there haven't been that successful elsewhere; even the Villa boss looks out of his depth despite their current form.

For what it’s worth I’m quite happy to see Roy go if there is a plan in place for the club moving forward. If it’s a case of moving him on then dragging our heels for a month dithering over a new manager then eventually handing the reigns to novice or failed manager I think it’s better we stick for now. |

Can’t see it. Very little love lost between FL and WHU

Not saying that, obviously he won’t leave now. But could have him sign deal principle start next season.

In the interests of balance, Freedman's first season at Bolton was very good. He took over when they were in the lower reaches of the division (hence why they were in the market for a new manager in the first place) and after an initial period of stabilisation, they embarked on a very strong run in the final 15 games or so which saw them shoot up the table to the very cusp of the play-offs. They would have got there too if memory serves, if they had won one of their last two games (ended up drawing both of them and missing out on goal difference).

You need the required coaching badges, which Cahill doesn't have. That is why the expert coaches on here, also aren't in the running for the job, as and when it becomes available.

These coaching badges that all managers are now required to have... Actually, was it always that way? What do the badges involve? So you could have years of industry experience at the highest level and still have to do the badges...seems a bit rigid to me. Imagine if you had to do that in any other industry ?? Especially if, and of course it would be a big if, but if you had one of the most experienced industry professionals in the business, Roy, to mentor you... Not to mention all the others?! Ray, Dougie, blah blah blah.

It's a big stretch, but I think Sarri would suit Palace

Lucien Favre could be an option...plenty of experience, success at similar sized clubs, good contacts, out of work, probably more attainable than the likes of Tuchel...would be an interesting one.

While he has had a good start it's only 15 games.
