There doesn't seem to be much cost on this one, so hopefully if he doesn't come good then the outlay is not as much.

But there was so much promise, and there still is. No need for the Wickham comment just yet.

When he's ready he'll be ready and I'm sure he'll eventually be an asset to us so it never ceases to amaze how many ridiculous and snidey comments come out when these things happen. At least the club has sensible cover for once just to ease a bit of the pressure off the lad and not try and rush things.

More positive than negative. Seems to have recovered well from the op. As often happens, and due to lack or conditioning, he has picked up a separate not serious injury. May happen again too. Have patience.

Wasn't for a thigh strain was it. He has an operation on his knee. His Knee seems to be holding up well. When people spend that amount of time out, they're vulnerable to other niggles. This isn't surprising and doesnt mean we should write him off.

I was a bit worried when I heard the words 'another bad injury' and feared the worst. A thigh strain can take a long time to sort out and often have a habit of lingering on and repeating themselves later if not fully healed (I think that is what will now keep Sakho out (rumoured to be eof the season before he would be ready to start). Ferguson has youth on his side and can afford some patience. You would hope that today's medical tech should ensure he isn't 'damaged' but it's a shame for the guy and the club. Have to assume our apparent willingness to let PVA perhaps move on now is that he and Mitchell can cover the LB slot while Clyne and Ward cover the RB position. The latter is solid but the former is a gamble today but with the 'insurance that JW and NC can both do a job at LB if needed. I think all 4 can play RB and LB which is unusual.

The length of Clyne's new contract will tell us more I guess.

Those writing Nathan off as a sick note are somewhat premature and sad.

Hope Ferguson can play for us at some point this season. Assume he won't be far off a return to training, but even if he is I doubt we will see much of him now we are out of the cups.

Thought RH said he was injured when we signed him then had another bad injury since joining us ? Does that not suggest he had the knee op at WBA , had another bad injury with us as well as thigh strains .

The lad seems an upbeat kid in his first interviews .total nightmare for the kid this injury let's encourage him FFS look forward to seeing him in the red and blue
