Big blow to lose Schlupp again. Gray would be good business imo.

SJ came out with an interesting point about their takeover yesterday and mentioned that these people might spend a bit of cash but he would not be surprised if it wasn't a whole lot. The logic is, why would you spend 100/200M on your team knowing it might get you a few places higher up the league (eg an extra 2M a place), not to mention, a much higher wage bill. It's brainless when you think about it, and would instantly explain why our very own people aren't chucking money in........

With the losses suffered over last 2 seasons with no fans (was it £20mill last season and will be way higher this) I cant see us buying anyone unless a high price sale.

I did read an article yesterday, I forget where, in which Burnley's new owner was quoted as saying something to the effect of it is good to be in the PL but not absolutely fundamental, and whilst you like to be on the big stage one can still make good art elsewhere.

I'd be having kittens if our owners said anything like that.

Teams going for promotion don't sell their best players in January (except cash-strapped Palace when Parish sold Zaha). Thankfully, there was a lucky happy ending on this one

Eh? Thats exactly what we are after in this current climate, a short term fix.

Past his best? Gary Cahill - passed his best when signing for us. Still good enough for us.

As for Clyne, hardly been shocking has he and he has been expected to start, not something we would potentially need Yannick to do.

Precisley. Resigning Bolasie would be stupid. I wasn't overly keen on bringing Clyne back either but he is ok for the moment. But Bolasie is still on big money anyway, I guess he will see out his contract at Everton and probably head to America maybe
