Campbell appears to be out injured for the season mind. Adam Armstrong would be a sensible alternative |

Eventhough there is clearly room for improving the squad, i feel the Board will realise the need foe wholesome change will be in the summer when the probability is we will be under new management, and that person will/should be able to bring in his choice of players to suit his system.
But i feel we can still start the process Now with bringing in 2 new decent quality young additions, players we had already researched earlier like Bella-Kotchup would be excellent, and i would like to see Cantwel lbrought in allowing him the time to settle, also he is just what our midfield needs moving forward. And if it were possible bring in Origi on loan, a Centre Forward with pace, aggression and good movement just what we need to lead the line (like Watkins does) and with an agreement to buy in the summer all being well, as i see Benteke and Wickham moving on and also Batshuayi returned. These players would provide the new manager with a quality base to build on and he can then add to. |

Need a new defensive midfielder and captain, our current one is an idiot.

Just seen Bas Dost signed for Club Brugge for £3.5m. He would have done for us if we are after a decent cheap striking option. Would have given Benteke competition and a physical presence upfront.
There are going to be some bargains out there this window with football finances the way they are. We should be looking to make additions with so many players out of contract in the summer. |

Is Bas better than Bats then?

I've been told by two different sources that there will be no First team ready signings this window. They were quite reliable in the summer with their info.

There are some young, talented prospects in the lower leagues. Worth a punt if clubs aren't asking silly money..
CB: Nathan Collins and Harry Souttar (Stoke), Nathan Wood (Middlesbrough), Bella-Kotchap (VfL Bochum) LB: Rico Henry (Brentford), Lloyd Kelly (Bournemouth) DM: Downes (Ipswich) CM: Dasilva (Brentford) AM: Ejaria (Reading) Wing: Olise (Reading), Samuel (QPR), Mbuemo (Brentford), Sarr (Watford), Buendia and Cantwell (Norwich) ST: Tyrese Campbell (Stoke), Joao Pedro (Watford), Idah (Norwich) Josh King and Demarai Gray will be out of contract this summer (as are Samuel from QPR and Lundstram from Shef Utd). That’s not what he said. If someone is available who can go into the first 11 we would be interested, but we don’t need more squad players. We’ve enough of those. I don’t see how that’s a problem.

I don't have a problem with that if we can get in a couple of younger players ready for next year, maybe Downes and kotchap or another young cb, they could always be loaned back for this season

I can't see us making any big signings unless someone like Sakho moves. If anything we'll only make a Banks-like signi g or two

Well it is a more expensive time to buy, and as we've climbed the table a little any sense of urgency has gone.
