Once fit and match fit he is indeed the best centreback we have, and by quite some distance.

However he needs to get fit enough to play and then a run of games to get match fit. He did remarkably well at the start of the season despite obviously not being fit, he then had a calamity half at Chelsea, absolute calamity.

Have we seen him since?

If we believe he can get 100% fit again and is committed to the cause we should keep him, if not then letting him go makes sense - particularly if we feel his body will never properly cope again.

He is not that old for a centreback.

No i accept that, we had let the importance of our Youth development slip for far too long and clubs like Charlton, Brighton even Millwall and Brentford overtook us. That’s usually because he is able to walk, unlike Sakho.

I think Kouyate now playing there means we already have one centre back who is bit more agile and has a little more pace.

I know Kouyate's come in for a bit of stick from some lately but overall I've been happy with him there this season. We could also do we some continuity at the back and the fact he is the only one who seems able to stay fit also makes him more attractive to select.

I the rumour with WBA makes a lot of sense. Reputable journalists have reported we an option to extend Sakho contract by one season if we choose to. We can loan to WBA for a fee and for them to pay his wages. Some sort of agreement would be tied in that if WBA stay up we automatically execute the 1 year option and sell to WBA for a pre agreed fee. If he goes there, does well but they get relegated we can extend and sell or keep. If he goes there, does crap and WBA are relegated then we release. It would give us a good chance of getting something back for him financially. As we know Sakho can be very motivated when trying to salvage his career and on loan.
