As has been mentioned before, whilst his finishing has been poor when he has played, he does a lot of the donkey work to give others opportunities and that shouldnít be forgotten. We often have played and performed better when heís been in the side that when not. Iím happy to give him another final crack. Even if he does want a move away, he will want more than ever to perform and score goals to help secure a potential money move. Weíll be the benefactors of that if he does.
All of this. ^^^

It is now clear that he played through injury 2017/18 season, and that he was injured for 5 months last season. Sure, the finishing wasn't up to scratch and it became a self-fulfilling prophecy because his confidence dipped as a result. But he regained his place in the first XI ahead of Batshuayi before the facial injury sustained vs Everton. He can't be that bad if he can do that because Hodgson doesn't suffer fools.

Next season he will either bang in 15+ goals and take us into Europe. Or he will only score a few, but contribute in other areas and we will move on to a superior striker next summer. It's win win for everyone involved. I genuinely believe that he can score 15 goals next season if he stays fit and plays 35 games.

A fully fit Benteke is a top striker, if he stays then itís not a bad thing

Having said that if offer comes in round £15m mark we should take it with 1 year left.. or extend him to protect asset
I'd extend his contract, and I think he would repay the faith shown in him. Although now he's only got a year left not sure he'd do so as he will know big offers are just round the corner if he scores 12-15 next season.

Itís not win, win if only scores a few goals next season and leaves on a free. You have been very vocal about wanting us to spend money. This guy is a significant reason why we wonít be able to.

One goal every 2.3 games??? And with no penalties! Ha ha - love the optimism but come on. You may want to readjust that prediction

The problem is Benteke seems content on running down his contract, and leave for nothing next summer.
It’s a big gamble for the club, stick with him and hope he rediscovers his first season form, or try to off load him, get a transfer fee, and free up £5 million plus in wages.
He wants to stay in the PL, so his only hope is Aston Villa.

I don't think he had said anywhere he want to run down his contract. In fact didn't he say he wants to stay in the premier league and repay the faith Palace have shown in him and that he wouldn't feel easy about leaving after all Palace have done for him. Now you can take what he says with a pinch of salt but crickey if one of the favourites had said that everyone would be lapping it up.

His issue is his wages. I don't think the transfer fee is neither here nor there now days. We would only get minimum back for him and £15m had been touted as top whack. At the moment we don't have anyone with the pedigree he has. Get rid and it would cost double that and a fair lump in wages to attract someone of his calibre. He either doesn't perform next year and his gone in any case then freeing up his big wages, or he scores 15+ helps us out and either signs a new contract or he leaves on a free and has put himself in the shop window, thus ultimately having a good season for us.

Our lack of signing forwards and scouting has come to bite us on the arse. We have limited if any back up. We therefore need to go into the loan pool again. And the loan pool is limited with strikers as if their any good they won't be available. Bamford would be your usual loan forward. We were lucky with Bats as he was surplus to requirements at Chelsea and it's likely they'll need hom next year. Or we find a gem somewhere on reasonable wages but may cost £15m and see if the transition with Benteke happens in readiness for when/if Benteke leaves the following season and frees up his wages for us to then go back into the market.

I honestly think in his first game back had the sublime effort that rattled the bar and then some had gone in we'd of seen Benteke of old .
