I saw it last night... I loved the nod back to OHMSS, and there have been plenty of little links to old school Bond throughout Craig's tenure - Aston Martin, Moneypenny, etc.

It wasn't a bad film, but it wasn't my favourite. As for the ending... I think doing what they did should probably be illegal. A bit like how the World Cup must be shown on terrestrial tv.

Yes, he certainly has broken a criminal amount of Aston Martins...

3rd best of the Craig era IMO, behind Casino Royale and Skyfall. I thought Rami Malek’s villain was a bit underwhelming, compared to the others we’ve been treated to in the Craig era. But decent on that whole.

I need to go back and watch the old Bond films. I’ve only seen Dr No and Goldeneye.

You are missing out!

I saw the film yesterday. Difficult to say what I really think about it without dealing out spoilers, but it didn't drag like I thought it might with that running time. And there were glimpses of proper Bond in a scattering of quips which lightened the mood momentarily. But in the main it was yet another pretentious, po-faced angst-fest with a barely-serviceable plot.

As for the ending... Suffice it to say that the Craig era signed off in a way which exemplified the main problem which has fatally undermined all five of his films: quite simply, they've been Bond film made by people who don't get Bond films.

My girlfriend's comment when we got outside was that they shouldn't bother making any more, which is pretty damning. I don't agree with that, but this iteration of Bond has been a blind alley, and they need to do a fair bit of backing out before they will be in a position to make Bond enjoyable again.

From Russia With Love is brilliant, as is Goldfinger... Little bit Lewis Dunk at one point though...

I liked Craig as Bond, and I liked the films too. But I think these are valid points.

The world has changed and I guess the guys making these films have tried to change Bond too. Brosnan's last film was an unmitigated disaster, so they probably wanted to move away from that pretty sharpish.

And whilst the writers have moved the Bond films in a different direction, they have also sort of gone back with M as a stuffy old white guy, Moneypenny as the secretary, etc.

Saw a Joseph Paxton in the credits. Bet he’d have hated it. I loved it. First post-covid cinema visit and it felt perfect.

But thrown by the end end.

There's a bit in the very beginning when he's driving his car where the top of his head is out of shot - he looked like he was playing Hunter S Thompson to me.

We loved the movie, second best after CR imo. Can't believe nobody gave any of the plot away beforehand.
