I emailed the trust last week about trying to raise awareness for the match on the 4th May where they could win the league at home but didn't recieve a response.

If FYP, the other fanzines, the trust etc etc can rally round promoting matches in particular the last home game on the 4th May using what networks, social media they have to bump up the attendances a bit then that would be fantastic.

Their matches are played at the Sports Centre and are free to get in. Richard Spokes who runs the ladies club can be contacted on their official website and is always quick to reply. May be worth emailing him if you want any background information or give an interview for the fanzine.
Nice one. Will get onto it.

Check out the league positions of the ladies and girls teams. Clearly a club that is going places.

Be great if you could contact the organisers of the Ladies team before May 4th, give them a shout, get them to maybe explain the background and their aims etc.

We wanna get them known to the wider CP fanbase and encourage as many people to go and see them as possible

I think that would be the next promotion. The ladies have given some hidings to some of the teams they have played this season and the Derby and Pompey coaches commented that with the team we currently have we should be playing in a higher division then which we currently are.

And that's with a side that the majority is made up with young local girls. When they faced Pompey they held their own against a more physical experienced outfit so the sky really is the limit for our ladies team really.

Of course funding if it came would be a massive boost to the first team and could aid in developing the club further. They currently have a fantastic youth setup with most if not all the clubs competing for titles in their respective leagues.
Interestingly though, Portsmouth's management told us that Brighton who fund their womens club dont know what to do with all their funding.
Not sure why that is but at a guess that would be down to whoever runs the club as the lesser funded clubs seem to have a lot of direction and wise people running the club. CPFC2010 would have to have a meeting with those who run the ladies to ascertain where and what they could be helped out with. Would be wonderful to see/hear about them working together though.

Plus... We need to overtake Millwall. I have a friend who I went college with who plays for the Lionesses and the setup they have is unbelievable but they are one step away from the new Super League so would have a good setup.

Street and I will get onto this.

I had planned to do some coverage of the Ladies but just didn't get the time, currently writing a dissertation for uni so don't have much time for anything atm but will try to get to the game on 4th May and also get some background info etc. I know the former chairman so will speak to him as he still watches games.

This was the last write up by The Eagles Beak.

Just to further what I was saying about the youth setup we now have. The U16's won a tournament in Holland that had over 2000 players playing in.

The match on May 4th is a "double header" game" against Old Actonians so it's two 1 hour games for 6 points , if we win tomorrow's game all we need is 1 point from those 2 games. Kick off time is 2pm. Access to the stadium is though a gate under the Jubliee Stand.

Seriously urge as many people as possible to get it down there and make this a memorable day for the Ladies team

The Ladies beat Eastbourne 2-0 today, which means they need just one point next Sunday to become Champions !

I'm definitely going...been to the last 3 home games and really enjoyed it and the standard of football is excellent.

Please make the effort to support the Ladies for their last home game and show to CPFC that they are worth backing financially.

Its so easy to get there and has big car park right next to the stadium. Just go up Anerley Hill and turn right past Crystal Palace station. Its free !!

Reading a couple of the posts on here about 'funding' for the Ladies Club I may be able to help and will be sending a PM to those on here who seem to be well linked with the club (Woosie/AndyStreet?).
I run a grant fundraising consultancy and work with a number of professional sports clubs and loads of amateur ones. You may not need support but if you do and I can help then of course I will.

It maybe worth contacting the ladies club through their website. One of the chairman Richard Spokes, is always quick to respond to any emails. He has also posted on here on the ladies thread in the questions to CPFC2010 section.

I sadly can't make this as I have work. First home game I'd of missed in a while, such a shame as its the most important one.

Hope all those there enjoy the day, pray the ladies win the league and they get a good reception at half time V Liverpool round the pitch at half time.
