Can we rename the thread title to New Stand Redevelopment as that is what is proposed.

For the vast majority this will have zero impact, for those in the Whitehorse a negative impact.

This is merely a corporate makeover for the main stand and I couldn't really careless if it never happened to be honest.

You would probably use more than one bloke on the job though. Judging by the length of time it took to build the Fanzone, the delay is probably being caused by waiting for the builder to finish someone's extension.

Not easy, SP said it could take ten years.
Problem is, that was over 6 years ago and we haven’t even developed one stand at SP yet. Should have made every effort to move to CPP

that would be flogging a dead horse. If you think the main stand is slow progress, then moving to CPP would not happen in my lifetime.
Feasibility studies were done, and CPFC would have spunked loads of time and Wonga going through years of Planning, with no guaranteed positive outcome.

Don't understand why we can't just continue the homesdale twin teir design all the way around with a lower upper level on the Arthur?, seems the hold up is for land we don't own and the shared grounds?

I still think the horse is on life support...

One of these days someone in the Bromley council office is going to come to their senses and realize they have to do something with CPP and CPFC gives them a willing partner that does not involve movie theaters and or luxury flats being built on green space, but a fresh clean rebuild of a dead and dying sports complex.

It's more likely that the area where the Crystal Palace once stood will be sold to property developers conditional on maintaining the park as a public open space.

There is no way that CPFC would ever be granted permission to build a stadium on the site.

The Arthur needs improving now. We were told that the Old Stand should be the priority before the Arthur. However, as nothing is imminent with regards to the new Old Stand then they should improve the Arthur first. Get rid of that bullsh*t box between the Arthur and LH and build something there with seats and more space at half time. Oh and more toilet facilities. If the Old Stand corporates had to visit the Arthur something might actually get done.

Appreciate this has been done to death, but not even on the existing Sports complex, which looks are on par with a Russian power station?

Never ever.

Hordes of people tramping through the park, traffic chaos in the local area etc. etc.

Most clubs in city areas face developing their stadiums because no-one wants a new football stadium in their backyard for multiple reasons and it will never get permission.

Fact of life.

Arsenal got lucky as Highbury could developed into quality housing but Selhurst Park will never be. Even with all its faults, it has more value as what it is than what it could be developed into in terms of housing.

Steady on, I'm sure we've still got more players we need to release on free transfers before his work is done.

Still not having it. It's the area he has spoken a great deal on and given it the big sell. From revealing plans for a stadium in the park to this. There is definitely a danger of him over sharing and a great deal of jordanesque hot air.

Thanks for the real world lesson though oh wise one!

Surely many of us would move to the new stand? I certainly would plan to (currently don't feel like the main stand prices are justified for the comfort and views).

Completely incorrect again. There were no “plans” revealed for a Stadium in CPP; there was a quick graphic cobbled together as part of a response to Spurs’ indicating they would try and move to the Olympic Park and revamp the athletics track.

How can you “overshare” plans for a £100m build that needed to pass planning processes? There is no camparison between the two events.

The stadium rebuilding project is like our Transfer policy, rumours rumours rumours, followed by excuses excuses excuses with very little action. Having supported CPFC since 1970 and been to meetings concerning the intended statium plans, but i like many others have seen plans for Stadium improvements/rebuilding/moving all come to nothing other than some "sprucing up" of the stadium.
Maybe one day we fans will have a contented look on our faces when we arrive at Selhurst Park or wherever, when is another issue.
