16 games with no goals , so Roy is getting maximum out of Wilf , Andross, Benteke , Mayer, Luka , Jairo........ is he ? I could go on

I think Dyche would be a great fit and would be able to hit the ground running with Premier League Experience.

The question is though would he leave Burnley for a club in a worse position?

The job certainly won't be a walk in the park and probably going to be dicing with relegation next season.

Some major changes will need to be made with loads of players contracts coming to an end next season. Would give a new manager a chance to start building his own squad.

If we end the season with 8 Defeats in a Row maybe it is time for a change next season.

Funny thing is we looked really good and sharp against Bournemouth. Very disappointing since then.

I do love hodgson but we are totally shite. Watching Bournemouth win 4-1 says it all.

Results wise you can say Roy has achieved the club goal again this year given the squad we had. Failure to replace players in successive windows and the majority thought we'd struggle to stay up this season. Football isn't good but as I say result wise Roy has done a job.

Problem is, and I remember well. It was highlighted on here of we stayed up this year then the following season will be a nightmare as there are so many holes to plug because of the poor successive transfer windows and a hell of a lot of money would need to be spent. Can anyone really see Roy being given the funds when his only got a year left then the next manager having little, or likely being faced with a team in the championship. If you're going to change in the next 12 months and it's obvious to everyone that money needs to be spent, then surely its best to get your man in now.

The manager isn't responsible for building a team anymore. He talks to Dougie and his team, tells him the positions and profiles of players he wants and they give him names from a short list that they think are suitable. There's a scout at the club who Roy has worked with before that has an understanding of what Roy wants in a player.

So he has an input and a big say. But Steve, Dougie and Yabroudi are all involved from various comments that have been made. The final say so is a discussion between Steve and the other two owners. That's the structure that is at the club. No new manager is going to get given free reign. Roy himself has said he just lets Doug Freedman get on with it. He often does not seem bothered until the player shows up.

Found a really worrying stat recently. Expected points (taken from xG and xA in every game) shows where we 'should' be in the league. Link here To view the link you have to Register or Login

We should be on 35 pts. That would put us 16th on an xPts table.

Obviously this is still just a statistic but it shows just how much we have relied on certain players (Guaita and Ayew) massively outperforming what is expected/normal. Think of the goals we have scored this season and how unlikely they are to be replicated, Ayew vs West Ham, draw to Arsenal away, beating Utd away. The xPts stat quantifies what we can see with our eyes: we have not been beating teams through outplaying them, we continuously rely on individuals to succeed. The team is not set up to win football matches, we do not create chances to score.

Furthermore, we have relied massively on Guaita's saves (we should have conceded 8.69 more goals than we have). This means, despite the idea of Hodgson being a good defensive coach, we actually concede lots of high quality chances and should have lost a lot more games.

Outperforming xPts is fine over a short run, but it is incredibly unsustainable for the long run. This manager is not capable of changing and evolving, there is no Palace 'project' to buy into and I genuinely believe the underlying stats will catch up with us if we continue with Hodgson for the next season.

We are nothing without Zaha, he's clearly had enough. We are so predictable, we allow teams that we shouldn't fear to cause us problems at home and we hope to nick a win.

No superstars at Burnley just an honest hard working set of players clearly playing for Dyche who wouldn't stand for the pathetic displays from our players.

Get Dyche in.

I’ve been following that all season. It is a concern.
