A bit unsure where to put Eberechi Eze, winger or central midfield?

Looking at the squad numbers available for Eze, I cannot help thinking Parish will be advocating Eze25 given the South London and Proud brand.

I am surprised so many on here are still hoping for a signing today.

I think it has been pretty obvious since at least Friday that unless we sell or loan out someone from the current 24 man squad, then no one would be incoming today, with the 25th place likely to go to Clyne if Ferguson unlikely to return before January and Clyne proves his fitness.

It might be we might do something with an EFL club before the 16 Oct deadline, if we can secure some loans for the likes of Wickham, Woods, Innnis, Jach and Dreher but we are unlikely to fatten out the squad any further today without departures when we have effectively 2 players for every position.

Yes, so long as we pay off the remainder of their contracts. We have hired them for that duration. We can no more renege on that than Zaha can just walk off and say he's not playing for us any more.

We have a squad of 24 as both Mitchell and Ferguson are classed as until 21 (born on or after 1 jan 1999). If we add Clyne and no one else then either Inness or Woods would need to be added unless they leave before the deadline date.

We have 27. Innis, Woods and Dreher are all over age, it was 28 before Jach went on loan.

Woods and Innis will almost certainly leave, and Dreher is in rehab so would only be named if we have exactly 25 on the books.

To have room for another player over Clyne, and not have anyone other than Dreher around the club not named in the squad, one other player, Wickham (most likely) would also need to leave unless another senior player, such as Dann, moves down to the Championship.

They both will, along with Wickham probably

I think Clyne played for a club called Crystal Palace prior to signing for Southampton.

Clearly...but we don't normally list Palace when they are actually playing for the club. We have had several players that have been back and forth between Palace and other clubs..but I see this one could be a bit different seeing as he started here. Will change it

Was bored so looked into where these ended up:

Joe Tupper - Havant & Waterlooville
Dion-Curtis Henry - Billericay Town
Jacob Mensah - Accra Lions (this isn't clear as its a Ghanaian team and football has been cancelled there)

Different player. Think Jacob was due to sign for an Irish club but it fell through.
