The whole squad is going to need to be freshened up next season, whenever that may be.

If we are actually offered £60m for Zaha then I'd take it. I don't think we'll get offered as much as that though.

Eze doesn’t look the part. Too lightweight, inconsistent and is pretty average even if regarded as a top level Championship player ......

Won’t cut it in the Prem

I beg to differ, he's looked a good player whenever I've seen him. Let's not forget teams will know he's QPR's main threat so a huge emphasis of their defensive play will be to stop him. In the Premier League he'll be given more time so express himself.

No one will offer half that.

Love Wilf but this season has taught us we can cope better without him than most of thought. Thats on the basis of his poor form btw. And that no one will pay anything close to what we want.

Eze is a more central attacking player. Could be the kind of youthful talent we need in this position. Meyer was supposed to be the answer and that hasnít panned out as we all hoped however Eze could be the answer in the midfield 3 that can be unbalanced in certain games. He is in consistent but is definitely talented and I think he would do well in a disciplined and structured system. Definitely the kind of player we should be looking at but he is no replacement for Wilf.

When Wilf leaves we will get relegated, we're about the lowest scorers in the league even with him. He also is the most fouled player in the league so that's a lot of set plays were going to lose, and corners and frankly about he's the only player who can hold on to the ball. He's the only player we have who the opposition are scared of and just like when every other great player has left us, the only way will be down.

Ok so if the choice is Eze or Kostic for similar money (which it might be) who would you go for?

That’s only if we don’t replace him well. Saint Maximin costed Newcastle about 18 million, and at the age of 23 is already about as good a dribbler as Wilf, just needs to work on end product (just like Wilf at the same age). Adama Traore is another example, costed Wolves about 18 million too.

Two attacking players of that caliber, or perhaps one attacker and one creatively minded central midfielder, and I think we’d be fine.

Wonder if Wilfs morals or why other players for that matter will refuse to join Newcastle

Will Zaha be moving this summer? personally i dont think he will and in all reality that would be great news for CPFC. He is so crucial to the club eventhough this season has probably been his least effective, that was mainly because of his frustration for not getting the move to a "bigger club" he had set his mind on, and when that did not happen it took a long time for him to clear his head of that disappointment.
The Covid19 virus will have had a massive effect on the finances of Every club and caution will be shown in the transfer window even clubs like Newcastle even if they get taken over, so i dont see any club willing to pay the figures we previously expected it will be much more around £45m, so it will be interesting to see what the club does if that is the case but crucially how WZ reacts if his move does not happen, as we dont want to see a repeat of his previous reactions.

It hasn't stopped players moving to other clubs where the owners or their wealth has been questionable has it

So, in the Sun, it says a Manager who is not the Manager of Newcastle may be interested in Zaha signing for Newcastle and the deal (worth £20m less than Palace's valuation) will be funded by a Saudi Arabian consortium who do not own Newcastle. Zaha wants to leave Palace to play in Europe and Newcastle are currently two places below Palace in the league and yet to be certain of avoiding relegation to the Championship.

Not saying it wont happen, just a few boxes to tick first.

Iíd take some more time out to check Eze thoroughly then? I watched a lot of qpr games , he has a few bits of flair but heís often not involved , rarely dominates a game ,and is not great at defending . He team mates donít make a point of passing to him , Sami is more industrious with a better output at present .

Let me know when either of those players produce what Wilf does in terms of end product, and then we will talk. Until then, I'm with PalaceSi on this one. We can look to replace, we can find some flashy players who look great and don't deliver or we can change our style.

But whatever happens, we won't be able to attract players of Wilf's standard so we will regress once he is sold. Our best hope of another player of his quality is an academy player. We could be waiting a while though, and Zaha will be the best Palace player I see in my lifetime.

We don't use his pace at the moment, well not to get in behind anyway, as he is normally in the full back position or on the halfway line when he receives the ball. He will still be a good player even once the pace starts to go, and that could be 5 years away in any case.
