Doesn’t say much though, does it... And you’re stretching the definition of assist to say either Ayew’s against Watford or Schlupp’s against Bournemouth were meaningful assists. It’s why assists as a measure tell you very little.

he’s one of my favourite ever palace players so it’s not a criticism, but for me we need McArthur plus one of the defensive midfielders plus a new and more attacking central midfielder.

Glad I didn’t have to pay my hard earned wages to see them earn their thousands doing feck all!

Schlupp's made his goal against Bournemouth all by himself. McArthur may have given him the ball but it was hardly creative.

He did really well to make Ayew's goal against Bournemouth though and decent pass for the Watford goal.

Won four on the trot with Benteke starting. Lost two on the trot (badly) without him. He is missed at both ends.

Looked unable to break them down

Also looked tired and a little pedestrian

Can't complain at result but their goal should never have been allowed in.

Overall 3 points from 3 games back

Enough to see us limp over the line

Heard PVA say Burnley wanted it more , Luka said the players missed the crowd and the energy they give , RH said that the players could not have given more in the last quarter even if there were fans in stadium .
Luka also said Burnley surprised us as we were expecting lots of long balls from them but they passed it about a lot more .

They changed style to fit the available players they had. No point playing long balls to Vydra.

We, on the other hand, seem tied to one approach, regardless of whether we have the personnel fit to play it effectively

It's a bit silly to blame RH. He looked totally frustrated at that slow-motion, careless first half.
Not many Palace "leaders on the pitch" around yesterday.
The whole squad looks jaded and bored, and several in dire form. Managers always talk about "a few new players to freshen up the squad' - as we know, it seems years since we "freshened up".
I don't get the praise of Burnley and Dyche - depleted squad, fair enough, they fluked a goal through a keeper error, then parked the bus.
It was a low-quality game from both sides, but at least Burnley had an excuse.

After two hopeless free kicks, around the Burnley area, why didn't we let PVA have a go ? He also has a capable free kick.

Why are we or Roy looking forward to new players when the season, especially the last two games, only proves he's never going to play the new ones or youngsters.
Four young ones on bench against Burnley yet no sign of bringing any of them on despite being quoted during lockdown that he would use them.

It was a goalkeeping mistake but still the best effort on goal in the whole game. Probably should have been saved but if you test the keeper you might get lucky. Sadly we couldn't do that. Ayew was particularly poor in front of goal.

Poor in his decision making and execution. There was one cross he tried to take down on his chest in the box, when he clearly should have gone for the header

No CF so no outball, no hold up play, no second balls, powder puff lack of physicality, no aerial ability in their box, less in ours etc etc it’s mildly amusing how folk don’t seem to recognise that without a discernible team structure many players are forced into a type of play they don’t excel at and the whole house comes down. Somehow Roy has still cobbled something together to get us to here. No idea how. We just have to hope we don’t continue incompetently dealing with such a key position.

Sorry, It was more of a sarcastic response to you. Your comments are correct as are others which just goes to show exactly how piss poor we are at creating anything with the way Roy wants the team to play.

I am one of the few that wants to see a change at the top because the football under Roy is so dour to watch. Just look at how many people said they were just glad they didn't have to travel to and from the game.

I wonder how many people took the option to put their ST refund into their account to use against their next season ticket compared to how many took the refund in cash? Some will have need for that money now, but it is not big sums so how many took cash because they will not commit to another ST watching what we are serving up as entertainment?

Man for man which Burnley players would you put in the Palace starting XI?

Pope might edge out Guaita but he is one of our best players this season.

Mee might get in ahead of Dann but i would generally have Cahill over both their CBs.
.
What? Thats mental.

Pope. Tarwaolski. McNeil. Hendrick. Woods. All walking into our team.

Could make a good case for both full backs and Cork too.

Well i would expect us to be after Hendrick on a free transfer then......

McNeil would because he Roy would put him on the right so he can cut in and retain Zaha, but of course then you lose Ayew. Don;t think Tarkowski is any better than Cahill. Woods would struggle as any striker does in our system.
