First training session for the Welsh squad has been cancelled. Giggs has pulled a hamstring.

My first thought too.

As a (part-Welsh) supporter of Wales, I'm pretty disappointed with Giggs' appointment as Wales manager. Like others, I remember him constantly being unavailable for friendlies. I wonder why the Welsh FA didn't exert more pressure at the time, but Giggs himself has to shoulder most of the blame. Contrast this with Bale, who seemingly can't get enough of playing for Wales.
On the plus side, I think Giggs did a reasonable job as stand-in Man U manager, so who knows? Most football fans are pretty fickle, and if we start winning regularly the Welsh public will soon warm to him. |

I really didn't want Coleman as Wales manager either, I was proved wrong in a big way. Maybe I'm wrong again.

He had 4 games at the end of the season, 3 of them at home, and collected 7 points. Hardly the stuff managerial reputations are built on I would suggest |

He will fail miserably and end up boring people on live TV for the rest of his life.

How hard a job can it be? Finish in top 2 of qualifying group and you've qualified.
Even if you cock that up (you do have Hennessey as your No.1) there is still the new 'Nations League' as a second chance to qualify for the final 4 places at the Finals. And at the finals, just one win in the group stage should get you through to the 2nd round. Manage that and there'll be some stupid foreign owner daft enough to give him a Prem job when their club is in the shit.

It’s never easy to get Wales in the top two qualifying spots!, Wales finished first in their tournament group with two wins and the managerial prize was the poisoned chalice at Sunderland. Apart from that, great post.

Oh Jeez. There goes Euro 2020. The media wankfest over his first game will be annoying as well.
Oh well best of luck to him though. |
