You are correct in this case. Zaha's move to United has been a failure, at least so far,and although the money for him was probably deemed necessary by the board at the time it now appears that, as was predicted by some, we could have done with his skill on the field a little more.
Yet another lesson for young players who jump ship at the first opportunity in search of money and glory.

How can zaha's move to United been a failure after 8 games?

Until it isn't I guess.
Admittedly that was a bit tabloid but my personal disappointment is that he is effectively doing nothing right now while we have lost all but one game.
It is an emotional point of veiw for sure.

You intimated that, from the soundbites coming out of the club, that we wanted to do the deal. A similar point.

You would think so mate, as far as the loans are concerned if they got injured don't they go back or if the parent club was short in their position then they can be recalled, obviously im only guessing but im sure we could sort this out

He's a quality player so that will show through longer term.

He'll probably have to drop down to a mid table premiership side to get regular games.

I actually think Ferguson ****ed him over a little signing him and then loaning him out when he knew he wouldnt have been their next season.

Exactly right it's only 8 games into a season & 5 year contract. Reports were he performed well in pre season so it seems strange he hasn't featured thus far. The boy has unbelievable talent & he will for sure end up being a regular for man utd but these things take time. The problem is we live in an instant world & 8 games to some people is a lifetime for others.

People with an interest in wilfs career like I do should just relax as his talent is so huge he will end up playing regular for them.

It must have been flattering for him to move there, but foolish if he honestly believed that he was good enough to be playing regular football for them this season.
Totally agree with this, Wilf is going to have to fight for a place there against some of the best in the world. I think it could be two or three seasons before they think he is ready for a regular starting spot.

I don't think we realistically could have done much different or better in Jan once Ferguson showed real and serious interest.

I don't think Wilf could have made a different decision in Jan in all honesty either. He has just been unlucky with Moyes coming in and not being able to take risks given the boots he has to fill (and is so far struggling to fill). The worst bit is that he needs games to even possibly stand a chance of improving so whilst 8 games in is no need for wild declarations of a 'stalled career' the longer he has to wait on the sidelines the closer he is getting to a stalled career:-(

You would play him ahead of Valencia, Nani, Young and Januzag? He hasn't even mastered the art of passing and crossing yet. I appreciate that Januzag plays on the left, but Wilf can play on either wing, but he is nowhere near that lad's level. Nani, Young (diving aside) and Valencia are vastly experienced players, who have all played their part in various league titles seasons. Yet Moyes is an idiot for not picking Zaha? Are you sure that your heart isn't ruling your head?

It was impossible for Palace to hold on to Wilf last Jan. We secured a great fee for him and retained the services of a still highly motivated player who won us promotion to the Premier League. It was the best deal the club could do.

It is a massive shame for Wilf that Moyes is not playing him, and a shame for us that he hasn't loaned us him back...

Obviously almost every fan wanted Wilf to stay and not be sold. Me as much as anyone, but those such as GF and Palace Si who think we could have kept him and kept him motivated when he had the chance to join a top 4 club are letting their romantic disappointment rule over modern football reality.

Sad as it is And now he is now not playing, frustrating as it is too.

The one (ultra-slim) chance we have is if Moyes absolutely hates him, is buying him back in Jan

This

Plus Moyes is an idiot and showing up all that is wrong with English football

We dont like sir red nose but I will recognise that he allowed flair players a free rein of sorts within a team framework as all decent managers should

Zaha is better than Nani. Valencia has a better work rate, but that's it. Leaving Wilf out for those two is like leaving a young Ryan Giggs out in favour of Danny Wallace or Andy Sinton. Wingers are supposed to be flair players. Manure should play Both Jancuzaj & Zaha.

That's well OTT .
Moyes is under siege and dithering. He is too frightened to start making bold moves. He has always been a safety-first, stick-with-the-regular-pros, kind of manager.
