On the plus side, id. Our back up who haven't bowled in I cannot recall how long throw down some pies then there is a fair chance that Ferguson and Khawaja score heavily and get picked for the for the tests at the expense of Hussey and North.

It sounds unlikely I'll grant you, but this is the Australian selectors. They picked Hughes last time for some reason, and Tait in 05.

Finn said he'd rather bowl but it looks like England will stick to their plan and send all four of them together as a team. The England management are giving the impression they are very certain in what they want to do - lets see if that lasts once the Cold War has ended.
This next match is televised I believe. Will Morgan get a bat? He's next cab off the rank so could do with the practice

Probably because he was averaging 70 in test cricket with two big tons in South Africa.

VB brand manager Craig Maclean said the Ashes series was one of the most important for Aussie cricket in decades.

I beg to differ...

Not sure what would be worse, drinking a VB or watching England win the Ashes in Australia. I reckon I'll be doing neither this summer.

If you hold your nose, you can drink a VB quickly, but watching England win the ashes takes ages.

He scored a lot of runs for Middlesex in English conditions as well.

Saw him play at Hove in one of the warm-ups and he looked in good touch. Surprised he didn't make more of an impact.

Right, and not one selector thought that the total lack of technique might be shown up in English conditions?

Honestly?

Khawaja has a very good technique and I hope he gets a good chance to show this over the next few days. Would be a great No.5 now and a brilliant no.3 in about 3-4 years.

Good bowling by Tremlett there.

If the ball doesn't swing in a couple of tests, I could see him in the team at some point.

Bowled well last year, and has raw pace, bounce and height

Thanks for the reminder fluffy, was head down at work. I see the future of Australian cricket is in at 3 and looking comfortable.

Anyone with a clue about beer would beg to differ on that front CAPTAIN OBVIOUS.

But in terms of sales etc, it is far and away the most popular. Purely because of market saturation.

Most popular via sales doesn't mean "Australia's favourite", Cpt O.

A bit of an estimate here, I know about 40 people's favourite beer here in Australia (friends, associates etc), only one of them's favourite is VB (and he's a nutter).

Point is, they can say that based on sales, and it's not entirely inaccurate.

I don't know anyone whose fave beer is VB.

And I am massively annoyed that our new football stadium in Melbourne have chosen VG ******* Gold as their tap beer.

VB is a delicious drop.
Surprising our bogan friend from S.A doesn't enjoy it, given a West End Export and Kokanee upbringing.

Kokanee goes ok, I'd rather drink from my toilet than West End.
