Sunday's match against against Aachen is so crucial.
Defeat would put VfB into deep relegation trouble.
A win could ease our problems.

Btw. My son Stefan still has a score to settle with Aachen's support.
Do you remember him coming home from his first away game last autumn?
He's looking forward to this one ....

Sunday: VfB Lübeck v. Alemannia Aachen.

Yesterday strikers had to do an extra training session. Aim was to shoot on target time and again .....

Hope it works.

You know that man? Stefan ****z - the guy from football coming home video - is in the limelight again. Sacked by Karlsruhe in September he's signed on for struggling Waldhof Mannheim until the end of the season. Mannheims last match is at VfB Lübeck .... down, down SVW.
We sank them in 97 (and it was the last match of the season!)

Deja vu.

It's cold and we have gale force winds.
Game could well become a lottery.

Nice little win Rue for the 'Mean and Green' boys of joy !

All in all a good season, managed to avoid relegation and those Hamburg Scum getting relegated !

Looks like I can wear my Lubeck shirt with pride this summer ! Will there be a new kit or will they stick with the current one ?

Kit supplier (Hummel of Denmark) and shirt sponsors (Schleswag) will remain the same next season. Only minor changes to green shirt and sponsors logo in the planning.

Two quality goals against promotion contenders Aachen yesterday.

The first:
Aachen were in ball posession near the halfway line and near the touchline before making 4 (needless) square passes until a striker (!) saw fit to hammer the ball from 20 yards out back to his goalkeeper. He stopped the ball with his right foot and then tried to kick the ball upfield but missed the leather completely...
Kruppke said "thank you" and poked the ball into end empty net.

The second:
Long ball upfield to Scharping on the left hand side. He superbly back-heeled the ball into the path of Kruppke who ran on and gently lobbed the ball over the advancing goalkeeper. Pure class.

Kruppke - doubling his goal account of the season - raced to the fans kissing the VfB shirt badge. Sad to see a young lad move to another club.

Managers on the field as the team came out. Right: Dieter Hecking (VfB).
Above his head you can spot a lad in a green shirt. That's my son Stefan.
