This is what the VfB player get this season:

1) basic wage: negotiated individually.
2) appearance money: negotiated individually, payable only in case of a win or draw (reduced amount)
3) point bonus: 500 € draw, 1.500 € win. No matter home or away, the league position or attendance.
4) extra payment: when VfB stay up played point bonusses will be doubled.

Sunday is an important day for the club. The draw for the first Rd. proper (64 teams) will be televised live at 6.15 pm.

Games to be played between August 30th. and Sept 2nd.

Teams will be drawn out of two mugs:
1) 18 clubs from 1. Bundesliga plus top 14 teams of 2. Bundesliga
(as it were end of 2001/2).

2) 4 bottom clubs 2. Bundesligaplus plus top 2 teams of Regionalliga Nord (incl. VfB Lübeck) and South (as it were end of 2001/2) plus 24 amateur clubs.

Clubs drawn out of mug 2 will definetly be at home in this round.

These are the 24 minor clubs who have qualified:
Holstein Kiel, SV Werder Bremen (A), Uhlenhorster SC Paloma, VfL Wolfsburg (A), SV Concordia Ihrhove, SC Paderborn 07, SF Siegen, Rot-Weiß Essen, TSV Alemannia Aachen (A), FC Bayern München (A), SSV Jahn 2000 Regensburg, TSG Hoffenheim, Bahlinger SC, Kickers Offenbach, VfR Aalen, FSV Salmrohr, 1. FSV Mainz 05 (A), 1. FC Saarbrücken II, Berliner Tennis Club Borussia, Eisenhüttenstädter FC Stahl, FC Schönberg 95, Hallescher FC, FC Erzgebirge Aue und FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt.

Don't forget that VfB Lübeck already lost to Holstein Kiel in the qualifying stages but enter the draw having won Regionalliga Nord .

Btw. FC Schönberg 95 is only 15 km away from Lübeck in former East Germany. They had top guns Waldhof Mannhein, Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart at their ground over the last 3 years.

VfB Lübeck fancy a clash with either Bayern Munich, Hamburger SV, Schalke 04 or Borussia Dortmund. Hopefully we can avoid Bayer Leverkusen ....

You'll find any club / league you like. Top class.

How true, another sad day then for Bayer supporters, I am sure.
Pity is Bayer won't draw a big crowd.

Nothing to do with the quality of the players.
Simply because Bayer are recognised as an chemically structured brand.

This is nice. ZDF will be televising live 2 and half hours and intend "to show only nice pictures". This means ZDF will not use the television gantry in the posh New Stand because opposite is the run-down wooden structure built in 1924 ......

Hotel complex in background pulled down 6 months ago
- now nothing left but a massive excavation.

..... therefore the Old Sttand will be closed on matchday and a special construction is being erected so that the main camera (14 in total) is focussed on the New Stand.

Try getting on a plane - return to Lubeck costs only about £50 at the moment.

This one could be interesting for Pistike:
Jiri Homola - who played a vital part in VfB Lübeck winning promotion to 2. Bundesliga - is set to sign for hungarian top club Zalaegerszegi TE this weekend.

Another test today.
VfB Lübeck entertain czech club SK Sigma Olomouc.
Lost 5-0 to them in build-up match last year at same venue (Westerrade's picturesque backdrop ground).
Kick-off 6.30 pm and I am going to see the new boys.
CPFC-BBS Steve C (in Paderborn) will be pleased: His friend Reiner Plaßhenrich will have his first outing after his op.

Course it will please him. He now has the ideal excuse to say "can't get in" thus allowing him to pretend he supports them whilst never going.
