Odd that both the conservatives and labour had manifestos at last elections saying they would deliver Brexit? Our politicians are destroying democracy and ignoring the largest ever vote for something with Brexit and in Scotland the SNP are preparing to ignore the independence vote that they lost. One message, politicians cannot be trusted.

Mark Francois was on the tellybox election special last night. He looked about 5 years away from a serious coronary event.

Don't blame me, I was just one voter who rejected AV. If you think there would be a different result with STV in a referendum, then you are a brave chap.

There were several problems with that referendum.

AV wasn't the right system.
The Yes campaign was shite.
People wanted to punish the Lib Dems.
Supporters of the two main parties wanted to uphold their dominance.

With a truly proportional system, a good Yes campaign, and more widespread dissatisfaction with the two party system I do think there could be a different result.

Unfortunately its Luddite views like this that mean we are where we are.

Why does this fact mean enough said?

Surely, for any right thinking democrat the opposite must be true.

Worth reading the Green Party manifesto from 2017 again.

Expenditure includes mass nationalisation, council house building, ending tuition fees and student grants, plus green stuff. Taxes come from abolishing higher earnings limit for national insurance, more inheritance taxes, taxes on the city and buy to let, a wealth tax, more taxes on corporations, plus abolishing HS2, Trident and airports expansion.

No, I repeat to the point of tedium, I said Italy is the only country that I am familiar with on this subject, elsewhere I know little or nothing

Fair enough, you are entitled to your opinion the same as anyone else, and I am not criticising that opinion, only that mine and most of our nation's electorate disagree with you, as proven by referendum, which incidentally, the LibDems themselves were responsible for pushing, ironically in their coalition with the Tories.

Yes it can be argued, but try arguing with that with those who have suffered most from their agreed policies of austerity when they were in the coalition. By the way, I was and am not one of those, personally, apart from my aforementioned daughter when at uni.
I think you and I will go around in circles over this so maybe not worth us going down the road of a heated argument and abuse.

The one thing that unites you and me, and luckily nearly everyone else is the kicking that out and out racists Batten and Robinson got.

btw how are you finding it being a councillor? I genuinely admire you for putting yourself forward for such a role and hope it is going well.
