Farage opened up that Pandora's box along with his behind the scenes allies. He is much more dangerous than UKIP2 and their ilk because 1) He is clever 2) He has a Derren Brownesque ability to manipulate the minds, hearts and words of a certain type of person that make up a significant chunk of our population.

If his party did very well - and they could these days - and he lurched just a bit more to the far right it will get nasty in the UK.

It will get nasty over the summer. MPs have ignored the wishes of the majority of the population which can only end badly. I hope we can avoid a European election for exactly that reason.

When did the majority of the population speak?

This must have been a significant event and i'm shocked i missed it.

It wasn't even the majority of those eligible to vote.

More interestingly, why this recent influx of Brexit Trolls?

MPs also ignored the wishes of the majority of the population by decriminalising homosexuality and bringing in The Race Relations Act. They got that right and that didn't end badly. Nor will this.

Racism and bigotry was the norm growing up, as was homophobia and blatant sexism. But over the last 40 years slow incremental progress has been made on all those fronts.

Brexit though seems to have let some sort of return to the 70s genie out of the bottle, and parameters of acceptability have been widened and opinions deemed unacceptable given platform.

I only hope this is just one last determined wag of the tail until a new generation takes over, and put these rabid dogs of discrimination down.

Pretty much all of it is down the general and insidious anti-all Muslim rhetoric peddled by the nasties pre-referendum coupled with 2016 refugee crisis. If the latter had happened a year earlier Leave would not have won.
This wasn't really about the EU for many but the idea of more dark olive skinned non-Christians entering the UK and they were convinced by the charlatans leaving the EU would stop it.

With the common theme of legitimising trouble making with a betrayal theme. All a bit odd really. Is anyone, who wouldn't have already done so, going to pick up a pitchfork and march on parliament because several trolls tried to legitimise it on the BBS? What's the point?

Yes there is definite attempt to incite a violence response from some if they do not get their way, despite 'their way' not actually being what people voted for in 2016.

The 'betrayal' appears to be simply not leaving on a No deal brexit and never mind nearly every sane voice forewarning of what a disaster such an exit would be.

Some of these morons see the serious possibility of losing their job as an acceptable price to pay for showing loyalty to queen and country.

I don't think said morons have thought that far ahead and they've been taught to simply dismiss everything as 'project fear', 'remoaning' etc It's a very clever tactic that the right use, come up with a catchy slogan that all the thick people can latch onto without having to look any further 'we want our country back' , 'leave means leave', 'Brexit means Brexit' etc... easy answer to everything without having to think at all, perfect.

I would imagine they are turning up on a lot of boards - some much less genuinely tolerant than here and they may hope to normalise the idea of some kind of violent protest if it is repeated regularly. However you may be doing Johnsonpen a dis-service - he has posted a lot on the general palace threads and is till doing so - clearly when it looks as a no deal brexit is not going to happen then it is likely to get a lot more mention from its supporters.
