For a side that spent less than £3m and brought in 5 players losing a lot of their promoted squad is a huge blow. They might also have their top 2 keepers out, or play 1 not fully fit.

If we cannot win this game at home we are in real trouble. Hopefully i am looking forward to a good attacking display and an enjoyable afternoon tomorrow.

A couple of them were available that game. It will be a very different proposition playing us than city and like our win up there last season, every time they hit the target it went in.

Having thrown away the 2 points against Wolves nothing less than 3 this weekend is good enough IMO.

We all want 3 points for sure but wouldn't turn this into some critical moment. TBH I haven't checked but this is likely our best points haul at this point in the season, sad that might be but .....

Defensively they must be OK because they held out for 90 mins. That couldn't have just been 'lucky'.

We should win and I hope we do, but at the same time I expect to be disappointed until the club improve our striker options. Ayew is doing well but we need options and quite frankly the rest of the team need to kick in with a few goals. Going to be a bumpy ride and I am going to try less stressed each week and worry about the final position. Whether I can do that is a whole different topic

The majority of all of them were not available for Man. City

And, they were not available for Burnley last weekend when they got completely out-played.

Plus, it is a bit of a non-argument, apart from swapping Schlupp for Kouyaté the same team that beat Man. City away last season for us drew 0-0 in a turd of a game at home to Cardiff 4 days later

It is a good points total, i had an 'expectation' of 11 points after this weekend when the fixture list came out. We have had a relatively easy start, in 7 games we have played all the promoted teams, the side who made Europa league which generally suffers in that season and also got 2 of the big 6 out of the way.

The issue for me is with away games at West Ham, Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as home to Liverpool, Leicester and Man City, even 2 or 3 points from the following 6 would represent a decent return.

A win against Norwich reduces a lot of pressure on having to get points out of a really tricky run of games for the next couple of months.

Camarassa was pretty awful in the cup game. Considering he is used to this league it seems odd he is not ready to start. We need someone who can be a bit of a playmaker. Meyer is one of the few who can be on the same wavelength with Wilf but needs consistency.

We should never be complacent and I don’t expect us to win per se, but I do think it’s fair to expect us to take the game to them and to not be overly cautious.

I would go along with the majority of your suggestions but would tweek it around, i would like to see Kouyate in place of Townsend to give us a better defensive midfield balance, bring in McArthur for his running and closing down ability and give Camarasa a more free role which suits his game far better, maybe try something different in the lineup 4-3-2-1.
This wont be an easy game eventhough it is our home game as Norwich love to attack so we have to be a little cautious and patient.
However we know Roy will go for a more traditional setup and line up, but can hope.

Not sure I agree that Norwich love to attack. They love to play a positive ball forward yes, but, attack maybe not.

If we control the Midfield we will win. If we give them 5 seconds to play an incesive ball forward we are in trouble.

The midfield is more likely to be overrun is we play Meyer or Camarasa (albeit I agree it is likely to be more creative with them).

I know the popular thing is to say Meyer is creative but is that the right word? Or is it a shorthand for him not being a ball winner? I don't mean that as bitchily as it may sound, it's just that I have seen very little that justifies the creative tag.

I can't think of many (any?) instances for us of him opening up teams with defence splitting passes or spreading the ball wide to switch play. He does the tidy, short safe pass for the most part and his most creative bit has been looking for 1- 2's in and around the box. I would love him to be the player that so many describe him as but there has been no sign of it really.

I thought we might see something following that Burnley match but no.

I have seen Camarasa play for Cardiff but not that often and didn't catch him on particularly good days for him. Some nice goals for them though and we are certainly short of those right now. I really hope he (both of them) has (have) something to add. It's a long season ahead.

Glad to see the likes of Vrancic out too as he’s decent.
