Ayew mom for me. Great link up play, held the ball up well, kept chasing and winning fouls and took his goal well. Turning into quite the centre forward!

Never seen someone have such a poor first half but such an influential second half as MacArthur. One of the most important Palace’s players. When he’s playing well the team does.

Glad to see VAR working well for Wilfs penalty... absolute stonewall.

Anyone else feel that every refereeing decision went AGAINST us before the Wilf VAR incident and then FOR us afterwards !?

What! So he expected Wilf to hurdle Chambers leg or politely ask him if he would move his leg that he had deliberately placed in his path? Errrm.

Has he got a Man Utd badge tattooed on his forehead yet? He’s just bitter that the Red Devils have mugged themselves off when it comes to Wilf. Funny how Old Trafford time stopped as soon as he retired. Coincidence? He’s pathetic, one of the most clueless egotistical referees I’ve ever seen.

With the advent of the great 'Team of the 80's' documentary this week, fitting that we equalled a record set by that side yesterday.

We've now gone three league games without being defeated by Arsenal (2-2, 2-1, 2-2)

Equalling Palace's 79-80 Arsenal record (2-2, 1-1, 1-0)

Ward just edged it ahead of Ayew for me. MacArthur was good after a poor first 20 minutes, surprised so many have him as MOM.

Rather hoping the club don't do the next part where the players and manager bugger off.

Think this the third chance to change the club in the last forty years. Let's hope we succeed this time.

Hennessey - awful again. One good first half save but cost the first goal and doesnt give any of our defenders confidence.

Back 4 all fairly solid, though Tomkins the weak link for the second week running. PVA much better defensively the last two weeks. Ward looked better in attack too than previous weeks.

Midfield three we pretty woeful first half, couldn’t string a pass together. Jimmy came good second half.

Front 3 were fantastic. Ayew bullied Luiz and he didn’t enjoy it. Deserved his goal. Townsend is needed purely for his ability to carry the ball forward. Wilf first 20 minutes was poor and seemed reluctant to defend though still has a bit of magic to win the pen and the second half he came to life.

Thought that Schlupp should have been of for Kouyate who for a lot of huff and puff didn’t offer much.

Hennessey MOM for me as he now confirms Guaita will be straight back into the team and we still got a point.

This is clearly Wilf playing as instructed by Roy. He basically did the same all of last season too. He rarely takes anyone on these days unless we're chasing the game, at which point he obviously gets given more freedom to do what he wants.

Great comeback and another point banked when it looked like it was going to be damage limitation like Tottenham.
And yet yesterday was the first time we have conceded from a dead ball this season apparently. Hennessey all at sea for their first goal and all of the defence absent for the second!

This is interesting. I am getting from that that good things are down to Wilf, bad things all Roy's fault Maybe I am reading it differently to how you wrote it. Whatever, it made me think about it, so thanks.

Watching, I definitely feel there is a marked difference between Wilf's performances/demeanour this season compared to last. We can all speculate why but inevitably it's a lot more complicated than we imagine, mostly because we have very few facts and as fans we have a cliche ridden view of how things are. So I thought I would look at the stats. Not loved I know but whoscored have less emotion (than me). Caveat is that it is only 10 games

Per 90 mins so far this season Wilf has successfully completed his 'dribble' 4.5 times vs an all time high of 4.6 in 15/16. Last season it was 3.4.

I'll be honest, I wouldn't have guessed that because he appears to me to be 'refusing' opportunities to drive at their box. Maybe it's just better decision making. Currently his 'unsuccessful dribbles' average 2.2 which would be his lowest ever and it appears without impacting his successful total. So the dribbles he has cut out are the ones that were proving unsuccessful (i.e. decision making).

What I did notice while looking at this is that Wilf gets dispossessed more often than any other player in the PL. This stat means losing the ball but NOT while dribbling. Losing it 4.8 times. That is twice the average of every other player in the PL but for 5 others. This is running at its highest since his return from ManU. Worringly he is in the top ten (out of 249) for unsuccessful touches too. so he has room for improvement there.

Wilf gets fouled more often ( 3.4) than anyone other than Grealish (4.1) - who interestingly dribbles far less.

Another longish post and so tried to highlight the factual bits. Not sure that it explains things but maybe some things to look out for in the coming matches.
