Same beer problem for me. All I remember is the ball going in followed by chants of 'you're gonna die' from our hosts.

I think I would argue that for most of that move there was very little in the way of pressure on the player in possession by Blackburn, whereas our goal, there was intense pressure on every player that received a pass and for that reason it was a better team goal.

You might be right. It just looks more under control, less ragged and more passes of course. Not saying it was harder at all just easier on the eye.

Disagree.

Think our one was better purely because we faced better opposition and we beat the press. A lot of Bristol's passes seemed to have several sideways passes that didn't go anywhere while facing zero pressure.

Yeah, Maybe it's a different view of what you call better. I think theirs is easier on the eye but of course we faced better opposition and it was harder.

There was a Nicky Chatterton goal at Millwall that was nominated for Goal of the Season. It was in a 3-0 win at Millwall early in either 77/78 or 78/79. There was a copy on YouTube but I can't find it now but it was great passing move with Chatterton finishing it with a side-footed finish from just inside the area at the home (Cold Blow Lane?) End.

It was a good goal but let’s be honest, at the start it was a bunch of blokes running into trouble and just about finding a Palace player. It’s not like we were pinging it around looking for that weakness. Similar to the Andros goal at Liverpool - great goal in the end but the start was a bunch of blokes close to giving the ball away in a dangerous area.

We were playing it around looking for gaps in their press. No different to what Man City do week in week out.

Yes I was thinking about this goal. You can see a bit of it here, we went on a good run at the Ricoh. They started to play music mid match on one occasion across the tannoy system to try and get their crowd going (what little there was of them).

Good point. I remember that Maradona goal against England, which to start with was just a bloke running around in the centre circle trying to avoid getting tackled.

I've only just noticed Cucumber's little hissy fit when we score.... I've been laughing for about half an hour.....it's at 1.37 of the PalaceTV clip of the goal from all angles.... superb fayre. It would make a great gif.... the shorts pull up, the little jump..... fantastic.

Jim Cannon 1979. Started off the move in his own area. 20 seconds , 7 passes and 4 teammates later he volleyed it in at the other end . Perfection. And perfection can’t be beaten .

And the icing on that cake ? We went top of the league with that 4-1 victory v Ipswich
