His contact is up in the summer . They won’t get £12 m .

Are you really that naive to believe all the paper hype? His agent is simply planting stories in the press to get the best deal.

Here are the latest odds:

Crystal Palace 3/1
Brighton 4/1
Huddersfield 4/1
Cardiff 5/1
Newcastle 10/1
Norwich 12/1
To Stay at Sunderland (Does not include returning on loan following a permanent deal elsewhere) 9/4
To Leave Sunderland 1/3

His rumoured fee is at £5m so stop working yourself up into a state and let's see what happens.

He still helps Kinetic out I believe, and knows Harry Hudson (Whyteleafe manager and Kinetic coach), Jack Mesure (Chelsea U15 manager, ex-Palace) and Ben Garner.

Joe was coaching in the academy when Josh Maja was at Palace.

I imagine Maja was either A) on trial with Man City, or B) told by Fulham he was being let go
As insightful as ever “Woosie”
I’m fortunate enough to know Joe Shields quite well, as my own son was with him at Palace and Fulham development academies.
He (J Sheilds) is very good at his job, he is very thorough and cares about getting the kids the right club for them rather than just putting them on the footballing conveyor belt!
Very much Man City’s gain and CPFC loss regarding youth development and recruitment!

Think he would be less than 5m, probably 3m at most?

Im wondering what kind of fee we could pull off if we agreed to loan back until the end of the season, obviously waving a loan fee. Then again it sounds like his agent pissed off the club plenty so maybe they dont want him back.

I think it depends who actually comes in. If after all the talk there is only one actual buyer, then 3m is probabky about right. But if three or four clubs actually start bidding, it could easily go to double that if clubs think he's genuinely a Premier League player for the future.

We could offer Sorloth on loan until the end of the season, as part of the deal.

I tend to steer clear of these kind of proposals as it usually involves a large assumption that the other club actually wants who we can spare :P

It makes sense tho because in January a club can't sell then be left short, especially if it's late in the window.

With CB and CW regaining fitness that would be a good shout.
Toughen Sorloth up, get him some game time and we get to look at this lad.

We tried to get Ayew permanently with Riedewald going the other way in August. Riedewald was having none of it, so we did a loan deal instead. Do you seriously believe Sorloth is going to agree to go to League 1? Unfortunately I think he is another dud it will take some to get rid of.

We’d probably have to given that we are supposedly skint. Mind you knowing Palace we will probably offer 10million more than he’s worth and end up with someone Roy won’t play

I thought we were not skint, just near our wages cap, which has just had some reduction with Punch and Johnny gone.

Wages have been the issue, not transfer fees, as far as I am aware. Punch, Williams and Mutch off the wage bill must create a bit of headroom?
