When he stretch for a ball from Eze in the first half that he didn't reach and the ball went out for a throw he clearly winced and grabbed his groin.

I have mixed feelings about him playing hurt. On one hand I admire him wanting to play hurt, on the other hand I'm not sure he is doing himself (or the club) any long term favours playing in a game like this one.

He passes so often these days, and most often within a second or two of receiving the ball. He's either been told to do that or he doesn't want the ball. Seeing how often Ayew held on to it last night, I think Zaha is choosing to do this... But why?

Is he petrified of getting injured due to a potential upcoming move? Or is he in a position where if he sprints, he knows his legs might not hold out?

Whatever the reason, it is starting to become a little concerning. Hopefully, all of this is nonsense and he is just carrying a little knock - in which case he should be rested.

You tell me. We've played an injured player three times on the trot for 90 minutes in each case when we aren't desperate for the points but will be in trouble if he is out long term next season or if we can't sell him and replace. That is insane.

Wilf must be nursing a minor groin injury, you could see him wince and hold his groin after he stretched for the ball and missed it.
3 extremely poor performances on the bounce from him is very concerning IF he isn’t carrying a minor injury and if he is injured why is he playing at all??

I thought he was slightly better. He won the penalty. He beat Bednarek a few times (who should have been booked). He has been passing it more often for years. The difference is he hadn’t been going past and pace has gone. Still concerned about lack of pace but he remains a top player.

For me it seemed like he was carrying an injury on saturday but I thought he seemed to be moving better last night. For me he was just poor. Defenders seem to double up on him these days so it is harder for him but for me it looks like he is a lot less willing to take players on. I would like to see him and our other winger swap sides a few times during the game like he used to do with Yannick

I was just looking at his BBS ratings for our six most recent matches: 1 + 3 + 1 + 10 + 11 + 6 and thats from a minimum of 200 votes per match.

Pretty poor by any player standards, definitely gone off the boil.

I don't think Ayew knows how to play a quick ball.

Try looking over the last two seasons, then you'll see how often he has been off the boil. Not enough top games to begin to justify a move to a big club

I've been saying this for months, well before any alleged injury may have inpacted on performance.

It sure is. There's those of us who critically analyse his performance, his attitude, his desire, his petulance.

And then there are those who just make excuses for this and put hin on a pedestal.

Still it makes an entertaining read.

Interesting that he's not had his best season in the eyes of the fans, but 11 goals this season in 28 games is pretty good going - 221 Minutes Per Goal.

A bit reductive to just compare goals scored, but that's better than Mane (292 MPG), Sterling (245 MPG), Watkins (242 MPG) and Rashford (264 MPG, although Rashford does have many more assists than Wilf).

It was like the Wilf of old in the 2nd half yesterday. Out on the left, getting into dangerous positions, one on one with the defender for his goal in the penalty area, lovely bit of skill and burst of pace putting in a dangerous cross in the build up to Eze rattling the crossbar. Some of the link up play between him and Eze playing centrally was exciting to watch.
