(More than likely stupid) XBox 360 Question
I have a standalone 360 (i.e. it is not connected to anything but the tv) and also a wireless internet connection. Question is, is there any way that I can download updates for PES 2009 without having to spend any money?

Am expecting the answer to be 'No', but there's always a chance!!

Seen I can save lots of ££ if i buy a long ethernet cable rather than gaming bridge. Next question - do i need a live subscription to download updates?

No - a normal (free) silver account will allow you to download stuff - just not play online.
