What has health got to do with giving up meat? Surely by cutting meat out of your diet you are damaging your health?

Well, you'll love Terre a Terre in Brighton then!

Let me also give you the inside line on a vegetarian place about to open in Brick Lane called Love Life Stories. I used to work with the chef, Maria Elia, at a place in Bermondsey called Delfina and she is excellent. She has spent the last year working at El Bulli, so expect LLS to be outstanding.

I also received an email from El Buli today to say that I hadn't been lucky this year, must have been beginners luck two years ago, Mrs Smoz was also turned down.

The year that I did manage to get a table, I received the email later than friends who tried and were turned down, so those of you who haven't yet had a reply may still have a chance.

Me too. I'm never going to Spain again. I'm also blaming those pinko lefties at The Guardian for running a bloody article on it in mid-October, doubtless because the journo couldn't afford to go so he or she decided to spoil it for everyone else.

Both the main veggie restaurants in Brighton are quality. If you're looking for something a bit cheaper and less formal I highly recommend the Wholemeal Cafe in Streatham. Unfortunately the Buddhist Cafe by Merton Park Tramstop is now a poxy Estate Agents

Saying you know more about health issues than an experienced Doctor is Maz like behaviour.

It got its star earlier this year. The lunch menu *is* theoretically a bargain, but once you factor the wine &c. in... Still looking forward to it though.

Sort of on topic, Le Vacherin has let me down the last couple of times I've been - not sure if Malcolm John is spending too much effort on his Croydon gaff.

True, but my last Doctor was rubbish and did not have a clue what he was talking about. I went in with Psoriasis once and he told me I had an allergic reaction to some meat. I said he was talking rubbish and went to another doctor who correctly diagnosed me.

Often in court cases doctors disagree about issues.

I still think giving up meat is an incredibly strange way to say I am going to get healthy! I would suggest eating organic meat as part of a balanced diet and getting plenty of exercise would be better..

Although I expect he is right and there is an awful lot I dont know :g

He is apparently opening another restaurant in Croydon, where the awful Smolenskys was, to be called Fish & Grill Malcolm John.

we stayed here To view the link you have to Register or Login the day after the wedding, and had the tasting menu.

It was super. The service was smashing, and they have an ace wine list.
I had the nicest dessert wine I've ever had, a Greek one I'd never heard of.

If you want to splash out for someone I'd recommend a night here.

Also to add to the fun, our waiter was the spitting image of nathe, but had the most high pitched voice ever.
It was hard not to laugh every time he spoke.
