45 million for Dunk is an 80 million + for Wilf esque figure. I.e, what he’s worth to his club, not what he’s worth compared to other players on the market. Probably inflated a bit by the fact that Brighton know Leicester have money to burn thanks to Maguire.

He is a straight downgrade from Maguire though, far inferior on the ball and in the air both defensively and offensively. Would’ve thought Leicester would be more clever and go for someone younger to mould into their next big money centre back.

Will be interesting to see if Dunk improves playing for a better team.

He'll have to displace Wes Morgan and Jonny Evans first.

He’s a good old fashioned backs to the wall defender in a backs to the wall team. Nothing more. Not the type of player that will readily fit into a team that passes out from the back and plays a high line. Plus he’s an absolute knobend.

Dunk is a good player.
Just because he’s scum, it doesn’t make him a bad player.
If ABW goes for £50m, Dunk is prob worth £40m to someone.

Shows how in the shit we are with our ageing squad, we have got to buy some young players and look to improve them.

Dunk is solid, but with 80 million and a good track record of identifying talent, Leicester should be doing better.

£45m for a 27 year old average defender. absolutely not.

You could get a fantastic young centre back like Malang Sarr from Nice for less than that probably. Dunk’s true market value when compared to other players is about 25-30 million max imo.

£45m for Haller to West Ham. He maybe good but these fees are getting astronomically inflated.

De Gea set to sign new contract 375k a week, despite being very average last season. Basically Real Madrid ended interest so now he’s doing them a favour by staying

So over next 3 years they will be paying De Gea, Rashford and Sanchez £200 Million in wages, that’s just 3 players two of which don’t start that often

How can clubs keep pulling this kind of money out of their arse?

I mean Leicester probably need two centre backs really long term.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see them get in another overseas player now they’ve signed one with prior PL experience.

They won’t much like palace and arsenal have found out. Hope united miss out on champions league money for a few years

We need more teams breaking into the top four like Leicester and arguably Tottenham

Maybe wolves / Everton.l? Perhaps one day Palace!

Liverpool’s owners have set an interesting bench mark

Since taking over they have built revenues from hundreds of millions to billions via building a new stadium and epic corporate / sponsorship deals for literally anything!

It’s not ‘out of their arse.’ They have the biggest commercial revenue in world football, despite how average they’ve been in for the past 6 years.

More of a business than a football club. Which makes sense with the Glaziers and former accountant and investment banker Ed Woodward calling the shots.

Despite all this without player sales the club would have only made a profit of less than £2m in each of the two seasons ending May 2018.

Well quite. I once heard Man it's as a franchise with a football team attached.
