Seems I might have had this the wrong way around. Notts County could be the ones disappearing - possibility of being wound-up after their hearing today.

Well, they have been given a 3 week reprieve to find a buyer.

Game against Doncaster tomorrow has been called off because of concerns about player welfare. EFL and Doncaster were not formally notified.
Whilst I do have some sympathy with their plight, I remember the first time we went into admin we had to play most of our youth team and still fulfilled all of our fixtures. Also very unfair on Doncaster fans who have bought train tickets etc. Last edited by Mr Mojo Risin; 19-08-2019 at 10:09 PM. |

Whilst I do sympathise with Bolton, it’s pretty rude to announce that they’re postponing a fixture without the prior agreement of the league.
They are inviting a sanction for this, and it wouldn’t surprise me if the league added an extra punishment for the lack of communication with them and Doncaster. I believe that in the amateur game this would be deemed as forfeiting the match and all points would go to Doncaster...the club can’t just unilaterally decide a match is ‘postponed’. |

Maybe I am being my harsh but they were lucky to be allowed to start the season, with a squad of 3 plus the apprentices.
What is the welfare issue? past the young players bedtimes? This takes the piss imo Surely you just get through the fixtures, and accept another likely relegation, with all your focus being to use the season to be ready to not go out the league next season. Like Pompey, it will take a long time to turn it round, but it can be done over time

There but for the grace of CPFC2010 go we..
Remember it was less than seven years ago that our manager left us for Bolton who were considered a ‘bigger club’ at that point.

They were in over £100m of debt back then. They never really cleared it, just serviced it by the sounds of things.

I could have played every day when I was young, three games of a weekend was not a problem.

I feel sad for the Bolton guys I work with. FWIW when I went to their ground in the past I found them a decent bunch up there.

So could most of us, but being kicked about by senior pros for 90 minutes 3 times a week is a different matter.

I have a friend living over here who is a Tranmere fan, and he was very happy with their 5-0 drubbing of Bolton at the weekend although said that it was not the same beating them in their current state even though there is a fierce rivalry between the 2 teams I was not aware of until reading about it here.. Long way back for them but agree that its pretty bad form giving notice of the cancellation so late to Doncaster. |
